Hagler has to be up there. It may seem obvious to name him because of his profile, but really did anyone ever see him hurt in any of his fights?
Even in the chaos of that 1st round against Hearns when Tommy was said to have wobbled him, did he? Hagler just seemed to be slightly inconvenienced!
I don’t recall him ever being just slightly distressed and he fought numerous punchers.

Napoleon said 'Give me 100,000 Croats and I'll rule the world'. He was on about George's descendants. Makrovic (sp) who fought Lewis was cut from similar cloth.

Hagler was both tough physically and mentally! He stayed the course when title shots eluded him and hometown decisions to other fighters went against him. He willingly traveled into Philly to face the best MWs we had, when they could not get a shot and many avoided them. Persevered until he reached the top

Still not sure how to quantify toughest, but Hagler was a tough dude

Ridiculously overlooked is Jeannette. Not only a terrific fighter but as tough as they came. A true iron man.

For whatever it is worth, in the best I ever faced series Duran had this to say about the toughest he fought

    BEST CHIN

Marvelous Marvin Hagler: I hit Hagler with a lot of punches and he just kept coming. I didn’t find him as skillful as some of the opponents I faced but he was the toughest.
