Lewis clearly, cannot believe anybody thinks Calzaghe and his resume of bums trumps LL's achievements.

I voted Benn but only because I found him the most exciting. P4P it's probably Clazaghe.

46 fights he was unbeaten and I know that strikes chord.

Lennox Lewis number one, how you can argue that is beyond me.

    Calzaghe second.

Eubank should be on there instead of Andries.

Hamed was very close, but I'l go Calzaghe.

If you are not going to vote for Eubank what does it matter if he's on the list or not.

Lewis or calzaghe for me Was a big mcguiggan fan also, but he lost something after the Young Ali fight. Also think Duke Makenzie deserves to make the list, 3 weight champ

Benn and hatton for me. One of my controversial boxing opinions. We ve all got them.

    Hatton especially underrated now.

His biggest problem as opposed to calzaghe was he was competing against the two best p4p,s in the world. There was a time when both calzaghe and lewis struggled for supporters. Its only afterwards they ve received the plaudits and seem to be ranked higher as each year goes by. Up till lacey calzaghe wasnt a big deal. My question is why did hatton have all these fans when joe struggled if he was as good as everyone said. Lewis and calzaghe both ended up with the best resumes. But for me hatton was better than calzaghe.

You could always tell joe wasnt trained by a boxer expert relied on his unbeilevable tank and fast hands as opposed to his boxing skills...he d win by outpunching you in flurries. Whereas hatton you could tell was trained by someone that knew boxing. Both great and most wont agree but hatton the better of the two for me. People nowadays put hatton down as a wrestler but there was more to it that that. It was a lonely place being in the ring with a on fire relentless ricky hatton at one point. Hed was an expert at working people over. I say to people to go back and watch hatton from the start.

Ricky Hatton's probably got a better record than Lennox Lewis.

Before his ill-advised comeback he'd only lost to Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Lewis has losses to Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman.

Hatton's beat the sh!t out of a fading Kosta Tszyu.
Lewis pecked out a decision against a faded Evander Holyfield.

    Exactly.

People seem to forget how highly Kosta Tszyu was ranked as a "pound for pound" fighter too, and how highly Hatton himself was rated.

Joe Calzaghe's win over Hopkins doesn't stack up to Hatton's win over Tszyu either.

he learned how to box in canada/us

    had an american coach

fought for canada in the olympics

then he decides to come back to the UK, sure he is brit, but can he be claimed to be brit in the sense where did he hone his boxing skills

What i dont get is when benn, naseem and hatton fought most tuned in. eubanks lewis and calzaghe werent nearly as well supported and yet always come out as the best. How come everyone wasnt watching and anticipating their fights in much greater numbers. It seems that most popular fighters end up being played down in retirement whereas fighters that werent quite as appreciated get overrated.

:good Eubank started out in America too.

I agree that the relevant point for claiming "British boxers" is whether they were truly products of the British boxing scene.

Lewis was clearly produced by North American (Canada) boxing scene.

Hatton does get underrated these days and there is a good argument for him being ahead of Calzaghe. People are blinded by Calzaghe's '0' but what happened to Hatton against Mayweather and Pacquiao is what would have happend to Calzaghe had he stepped up fought prime Jones and Hopkins. At least Hatton had the bottle to give it a go against the very best.

Plus don't forget that Hatton was the underdog against Tszyu (most were picking Tszyu to knock him out) but won handily whereas Calzaghe was a huge favourite against Hopkins yet got dropped and was lucky to come away with the win.
