Paul Appleby - Big things will come from that lad! the only problem i had with him was if he was going to get tired in later rounds but in his last fight he proved that he gets stronger in the later rounds, he has power, accuracy, speed and now stamina, be intreseting to see how he breaks onto the european fighters now that he has taken over british boxing

There are plenty of decent featherweights in the UK.....

The young up and comer is Paul Appleby (12-0 8KO's) having recently won the British title. He has been given a decent level of opposition rather than the typical ten bums then five journeymen route. He has a likeness to a young Ricky Hatton - whacking opponents to the body and not being worried about taking a few in return.

He hasn't really filled out yet so will probably end up at superfeather in a couple of years. One to watch.

Another you may have heard of is Derry Mathews - the typical Sports Networl fraud. Recently lost his 0, and going nowhere.

Rendall Munroe is currently the European 122lb champion, but with 122 being strong on the world stage I see him moving up to FW. 16-1, mid 20's, works as a dustbinman in his spare time. Fringe world class IMO - good enough for alphabet titles but not genuine P4P material.

Not seen enough of Lindsay to be honest - so will reserve judgement.

Amir Khan needs to move up to British title level - don't believe a word he says about being 'above European level now', he has fought three or four domestic top 10 135lb'ers, and though blowing away two of them, has looked afwul at times and been KD'd by both.

4 KD's in 18 fights against largely feather fisted super featherweight competition doesn't bode well, especially as he likes blocking punches with his face.

akash bhatia is the next big thing from britain featherweight wise he's beaten the current commonwealth champ paul trusscot in the ams he's ko'd top boys in the ams such as vinny mitchel kevin mitchels brother/lee ballard etc and is gna b fighting for the southern area title very soon he'd beat the the current prospects like appleby and lidsey etc to much all round skill plus has bags of stamina plus can punch abit and he has had harder opponents so ar than all of those in carear so far being put in wiv super feathers/light weight/l.welters which is why he hasent had a as high ko ratio as the rest but trust he does hit harder than them.

Akaash Bhatia looks good, but his level of opposition is way inferior to that of Appleby thus far IMO.

I agree he could go quite far, but with Paulie power he may come unstuck

I would also add Ricky Owen from Swansea. Not seen him live myself yet but I've heard some good reports.

Bhatia has a lot of skill, speed and size. He has the most promise, provided he has a chin. I have a horrible feeling he might be like his Pakistani cousin Khan, and I don't know why.

Appleby is more proven but I really don't see anything too special there.
