You mean all the points I have been refuting with ease for pages?!

    And I copy again...

I can continually post this, as there is no answer ploys can give to this which doesn't result in defeat for him by my logic:

Anyway, irrespective of ploys' very boring and very extended failure of a boxrec point and irrespective of Headgiver giving head to make friends as usual, I think we can conclude that the worst title challengers ever must have been Emilio Hernandez (2-4-0) and John Mensah Kpalongo (1-4-0) who got shots at Carlos Zarate's WBC bantamweight strap in 1978-9.

    Shame on you, Carlos!

How about putting this another way: can either ploys or HEADGIVER provide more details about any of these fighters, apart from what is on boxrec?

I hadn't heard of any of them before reading through this thread, and I doubt anyone else had either. So, trolls, prove Popkins wrong and tell me more about these fighters and why they are better than boxrec indicates.

nah...lets bring up the **** you've been ducking.

    like:

1: what makes the ibf no.15 handpicked for an easy fight after a period of inactivity worse than the wbo no.1 & a mandatory challenger who had been keeping busy fighting bums waiting for his title shot after attaining his ranking?

2: where did i say that you can NEVER use boxrec?

3: if i didn't say you should NEVER use boxrec; why did you keep on saying i did...even after being challenged to show where i did say that?

3: why is joe calzaghe "reprehensible" for fighting a mando?

4: why did you say i was defending the wbo rankings system when i said i didn't like it?

5: why did you keep bringing up my 3rd post on the subject of tricky ricky to show that i only knew about him through boxrec...when i had made 2 other posts on him before i had even glanced at his record?

6: why do you keep ignoring my point about "context" being more important that stats...& that is the sole reason i dislike people who get all their information solely off boxrec...because they have the stats but they don't have the context? this is important because someone with a perfect record (like for example salita) may look like a better win than someone with an average record (like say; glen johnson) but that doesn't tell the whole story...does it? (it is apropriate in this context because you made several factual errors that proved you did not know the context of the calzaghe/thronberry fight).

7: why did you turn the discussion into a debate of "semantic bull****" after you had criticised me for using "semantic bull****"? does this make you a hypocrite?

8: why did you call me a hypocrite (even tho i have never changed my position on anything) given the above hypocrisy?

9: could you please show me a definition of "boxrec warrior" that relates to someone "pretending to have seen fights" rather than just discussing fighters & passing judgement on their careers based on knowing nothing about them other than their records on boxrec?

10: if you cannot...please explain how YOUR definition of "boxrec warrior" is correct & mine is not?

11: why have you kept saying that thronberry "earned" his title shot by beating the fighters you listed...when his wbo ranking was due to winning a minor wbo trinket after which he kept himself out of harms way until he got his big money title shot?

12: if i "don't know who i'm talking to"...who DO you think you are?

13: can you really not see the difference between " You needed a stat, so you looked on boxrec" & "getting all your knowledge on a certain subject from boxrec then starting a thread based on what you've learned & passing a value judgement on these peoples careers"? your thread isn't called "who had the worst opponents on paper leading up to a title fight". it's called "Who is the WORST challenger for a world title in HISTORY?". a pretty bold statement to make based on nothing more than a trawl through a stat website.

14: i like even numbered lists.

numbered for your convenience. 1 at a time. or all at once.

i may have missed a few tho...but we''l see how you do with this you spasticated ducking troll. :thumbsup

 You are exposing the fact that Ploys's points have more holes than Swiss cheese.

He says using boxrec is fine, but then attacks me for using to provide stats on obscure fighters.

My continual question is, if it's not fine to use it to provide stats on obscure fighters, then what is it fine to use it for???

    not the point.

if you say someone is the "WORST challenger for a world title in HISTORY?" based on never having seen them fight but recently looking up their record on boxrec...you're a shitty little boxrec warrior & you aren't qualified to make that judgement. that was my point. not that thornberry wasn't ****...primarily cos thornberry was ****. :thumbsup

Look at you getting all angry because your initial rubbish point has now been proven wrong! :fire:fire:fire

    You're boring me.

What was your answer to this anyway?...

    And I copy again...
