I can understand why Mike refused to fight Tommy, he didn't stand a chance in their first meeting (Rocky V) :yep

To be fair Texx Cobb didnt have a bad record. Stopped Earnie Shavers, lost a split decision to Kenny Norton, mixed decision to Buster Douglas.

He took a bad beating but thats only because his chin was made of something like adamantium. If he had just got knocked out ion the 5th,no one would have paid much attention.

Can't remember the guys name, but he was the towelhead that fought Bernard Hopkins a few years ago on HBO.

Also, Joe "King" Roman that fought George Foreman during Foreman's first reign as champ. I only saw him in that fight and he was awful. George almost killed him.

For a guy that never really fought anybody of note prior to his title shots, Bean did surprisingly well.

Still doesn't mean he deserved the tilte fights though.

It could have been a case of bad management.

Oleydong sithsamerchai in his first defence took on
Junichi Ebisuoka 17-10-3. Then had some meaningful defences and took another fight that seamed easy against 6-0 Kazuto Ioka but got KO´d. Kazuto was from a higher weigh class as well.

Not sure how anyone can suggest Tex Cobb or Matthew Hatton seeing as how they both went 12 rounds in their title challenge.

Worst challenger I've ever seen first-hand was Prince Naseem v Said Lawal (somebody else already mentioned it). Naz knocked him down with his first punch within 3 seconds of the opening bell and apparently broke his nose in two different places. Not sure how true that is, but he had no business challenging for a world title.
