I watched Lewis vs Tyson last night and George Foreman was yet again spitting that mad ish!. The guy could be used in torturing people with the mad bollocks he comes out with . Was getting a headache listening to him it was like someone took pre recordings and pressed play.

Tyson would get hit by a hellacious uppercut and you'd hear ''Arhrhrhr Tyson's coming on strong''. Reminds me of Fight Night when the disc is f'd up..

Anyways got me thinking, we need to settle this once and for all. We have so many threads on here slagging commentators off but now's the time to vote.

Who will get the dreaded Wooden Mic?!.

George Foreman was charismatic and deep...........really dramatic aswell.

I liked his work during this fight. The way he was stressed out with Evander Holyfield's health, Holyfield was clearly weakened by his illness during this fight.

Great heavyweights these, look at them!!!

Not saying he's the worst but that performance was **** poor PK IMO. He did make me laugh with his emotions and Larry Merchant was dead set on winding George up and disagreeing with him.

    Will check the vid out.

I wouldn't call them the worst but Duke McKenzie and Lennox Lewis (great fighters though they both were) don't do it for me commentary wise. I like the guys that say something and you think "yeah, thats right. Never thought of that"

Lewis is very frustrating - the guy clearly knows his stuff and can give great insights, but he was just never comfortable on-camera, it seems.

Yeah Lennox was suprisingly bad as well, I expected him to be a lot better at reading fights. His accent isn't really emotive either so it always comes across to laid back or quite forced.

Lennox Lewis is very witty, and knowledgeable.

You can tell by his tweets, that he is extremely witty.

I think Lennox Lewis would do better working with Sky, i don't think he enjoyed the other commentators at HBO.

The problem Lewis had was that he used to get asked his opinion on something mid-fight when he clearly didn't really have an opinion. He'd then have to just agree with what the other guy was saying in a non too convincing manner.

He's too much of a thinker for live TV - it's what often made some of his fights such a slog to watch until he committed to his shots.

He'd probably be a great regular on something like Ringside or ESPN when he's had time to think over what's happened and discuss it from different angles.

He's just not very charismatic, IMO. Lovely guy, great fighter, terrible TV personality.

For me its probably a choice between Duke McKenzie (seems like a really great bloke, but not a very good commentator IMO), the American Dave Bontempi (REALLY biased against British fighters, just check out his commentary of Lewis/Golota), and Colonel Bob (just talks total bollocks that has virtually nothing to do with the fight, and keeps kissing the arse of the promoter).

He was not the alpha male for some reason.

Larry Merchant did not enjoy working with him ether, and was constantly trying to show him up.

Lennox Lewis is a very logical person mentally. These type of people in general comes across boring, because they can only really commentate on what they see. They cannot commentate on what they think is going to develop, and they find a hard being creative. Illogical commentating is always the best, dramatic, outlandish, commentating.

Its one of the reason why Lennox Lewis was such a hard fighter to beat, his psychological thought processes.
