Cortez is shot as a ref.

He's been doing terrible jobs for the last few years.

Can you give an instance of a time when he's stopped a fight long after he should have? Because, with the exeption of Hopkins-Trinidad, I can't think of a single instance where he's let a fighter take a protracted beating.

Laurence Cole, because he tells guys when they are winning the fights. Actually, I like the guy, he's a good ref.

Cortez isn't a bad referee, he just had a god awful one in the Floyd fight..

I never liked Randy Neuman much or some of the old school british referees ..

I like Smoger, Bayliss, Pearl and Lane..

I like Smoger...and I always like how Smoger seems to be part-ref, part-cheerleader in there a lot of the time. I half expect him to pat someone on the back and say "Great hook!" or something, he's so chummy with them.

I quite like Cortez but he's had some poorer efforts over the last few years. He was always a referee that gave someone a more than generous chance after they got knocked down, he'd always let them at least have one more go rather than calling it off. In some cases good, in some cases bad.

Eddie Cotton, don't get me started. I can't be very complimentary about him, thanks to Lewis-Tyson and Bowe-Golota II.

Best - Smogger, lets the action continue.

Worst - Cortez. Yeah I know he can referee a bout sometimes, but sometimes just doesn't count. He's just too inconstint, which annoys me.

Cortez was lousy. He didn't have his head in the fight. He was intimidated. This fight was too big for him. Example, he knee jerked taking the point away and he was too nervous to rescind it after he saw it didn't hit Floyd. Another example, his visit to Ricky's corner that he would stop the fight if he didn't start fighting.WTF? He showed no presense of mind that night, even when he photo-optd with PBF after the fight. Wow, what a disaster.
