JMM-Katsidis was an HBO WCB fight, not a PPV the way Mosley Mora is. You would have been better off using JMM-Diaz 2, which sold better than Mosley-Mora. We get it. This is a shitty fight for Bob Arum to shove down the public's throat. He's greatly benefiting from boxing not being a mainstream sport, you couldn't sell **** like this if Boxing was still up there with Baseball and basketball and people knew who all the fighters were.
Thanks for the correction Change it already but let also considered that Juan Diaz put a great fight with jmm in their first fight and it was a close fight if not for a KO not to mention Diaz was more known than Mora. Lots of fans see Mora as a journeyman.
How was Diaz more known than Mora?? Mora was in the first season of the contender which was a huge hit and he won it. Mora is by far more well known to the public. Not to mention the stacked undercard Mosley-Mora had. My dad and his friends just bought it for that. So they could watch Canelo.
JMM-Diaz 2 did about 150k-200k. Totally valid points that they had the 2009 fight of the year going for them, but JMM also was coming off exposure with the Mayweather fight and the 24/7 that came with it. JMM and Mosley both lost to Mayweather, but JMM's fight post Mayweather still pulled in more than Mosley. I think if you take it as a measure of popularity by looking at the numbers, JMM's fan base pushed the numbers up a bit. JMM is also inextricably linked to Pacquiao because of his fights.
