I've asked these questions on many forums for many years and have gotten many crazy responses, but which kind of person/fighter do you consider the worst scumbag in boxing history? A boxer who ducks his mandatory A trainer who adds something or takes padding out of a fighters gloves A fighter who uses PED's? A promoter who steals from the fighter. Now all are bad but I'm only asking that you pick one that you despise. This is not to say that you're ignoring the other choices because I'm not giving a multiple choice answer lol. But which is the worst?
A trainer who adds something or takes padding out of a fighters gloves A promoter who steals from the fighter. Between these two...
Good question need to think about this, ducking a mandatory is the weakest option I think. Taking PED's I believe every fighter is either or has taken some form of PED. As UnleashtheFURY says it's got to be the trainer tampering or promoter stealing. If the fighter didn't know that the trainer was tampering then this is the worst imo.
Yeah probably these as the PED thing is something all the boxers understand, sure if one gets caught the rest will throw him under the bus but it's all for show
My answer is trainer, if you're too stupid to let your promoter steal from you then it's your fault. Get a lawyer and accountant and proofread all contracts! Seems to happen a lot between Don King and his fighters.
It's cocaine. That's just before he got sent down for life, stealing for Jay-Z criminal empire who uses Andre Ward and Rigo to fiddle his books.
A- Cowardly at worst. B- Worst case a fighter dies as a direct result of this and both the fighter and the trainer get charged with a felony. Three lives destroyed at least. C- Uneven playing field, destroys spirit of competition. D- Hurts a fighter's livelihood. I'm going with loaded gloves.
Wow, I am a lil shocked that you guys go with the trainer wraps thing. You guys are making me rethink everything lol...
No4, for me. Even though the first three are bad enough, in the end all boxers have to step in the ring and get punched in the face. Promoters on the other hand are generally slimballs who will drop a fighter in the blink of an eye once they stop delivering in the ring. And the % they take off the purse for everything from travel expenses, to training camp costs and fight promotion is often scandalous at a cost they determine. You see a lot of old, rich promoters but very few old, rich boxers...
