To be fair to Ustinov....he didn't look that bad vrs. Bakhtov about a year ago.

Since then Ustinov has been overweight alot. Weight will be a big issue in this eliminator....both fighters have a tendency to show up a little chubby, especially Ustinov. Ustinov clearly has a bit of a beer belly if you look at the photos of the press conference.

Ustinov has a chance if he can catch Pulev with a good punch early in the fight and disrupt Pulev's reflexes and rhythm.

It will go the distance, unless Ustinov gets Pulev with a lucky punch. And even then Ustinov could still win by landing more jabs with his reach advantage.

Ustinov has okay power but nothing special and Kubrat has show a very good chin against much better punchers like Walker.

Ustinov is a ****ing ox...Pulev shouldn't have a problem outboxing him, but if KP knocks him out, that'd really be making a statement.

Are you a reincarnation of a deceased nick 'MesserStick' that went into oblivion together with his adored boxer ChauncyWelliver?

MesserStick is still around, and still deluded as hell despite his boy getting his ass kicked by a 4 fight novice. :rofl

Even second-rate opponents were able to land decent punches on Pulev (Oloukun, Walker). If Pulev can handle the physical challenge, he'll probably win an unanimous decision over Ustinov - but i would never count the Russian out. Although he is really huge, he's also a moderate boxer with serious power. Ustinov by stoppage is at least imaginable (to consider how easy Pulev sometimes got hit).

No idea why everyone in here seems to be so high on Pulev. Dude got rocked pretty badly by Travis Walker not too long ago.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Ustinov gave him trouble.

If he was an American or Mexican boxer everyone would have been talking about him.

Name one fighter who Travis Walker has faced who WASN'T rocked at some point. The only one I can think of is Banks, and that's mostly because neither guy threw a punch for the first six rounds. He has a rotten chin, but he's hurt Chagaev, Arreola, Adamek, Pulev, Estrada, Meehan, etc. Dude can punch.

And no, Pulev doesn't have the world's greatest chin or power, but he can box. Overall, he's no worse than guys like Chagaev and Ibragimov, but I think the Dimitrenko fight proved he's a level or two down from some of the other top guys from the past decade. Unfortunately, he's very similar to those two in a lot of ways, and if he does face a Klitschko, he'll probably meet the same end. That said, unless he gets caught with one of Ustinov's super slow power shots, I see no way he doesn't comfortably outbox the big oaf.

    1) Pulev might have been lightly stunned once or twice against Walker but he was never rocked or hurt at any point and considering how he's layed out guys like Arreola, Adamek, and Meehan i think that says his chin is more than okay.

    2) Pulev does have some similarities to Chagaev and Ibragimov but regarding a Klycko fight there's one big difference, he's a 6'4.5 and 250lb shw with a good jab.

    3) Pulev's defense reminds me of Vitali's style as he uses alot of upperbody reflexes and leaning back to avoid shots. He also has athletic footwork and is good at dictating range with it. Both those aspects of his game get underrated imo

Pulev bitched his way out of a fight against Solis, instead he's fighting Ustinov who moves slower than a tractor filled with concrete.
