Well, I don't think he sucks at all, and think he looks to have some nice pedigree but I wasn't too impressed with him, beyond thinking he's an okay boxer, with some nice punch variety. I agree with the rest though. He didn't look to have any special power to me and I didn't bother picking a winner based on thinking it was a toss-up until retroactively proven otherwise. I think he's just okay, anyway. Again, until/unless proven otherwise, that's where I'm at with him. ...He's got a ways to go before he's any kind of Pretty Boy Vyacheslav/Money Senchenko... Edit: Drew. We'll be middle-ground men together. :grouphug (without any homosexual connotation to that emoticon)
Weird character, good fighter. I reacted the same way you did last year when I first heard about him. I was a little taken back when I saw his record and told myself "Why haven't I heard of this guy before?". Like his style but overall his KO mentality. He goes for the kill everytime he lets his hands go. Heavy handed moflowa.
The guy has serious power, and he loves to fight. He also has the stamina to maintain that whirlwind pace for, well we've seen him go 8 rounds like that. His arm speed is a hair slow, and he tends to drop his left, so he is VERY susceptible to a strong counterpuncher. However, tonight you saw him correct that fault in the second round, so I suspect he has a great trainer. - and he's only 24, so plenty of time for improvement. This guy will surely bring us a lot of really fun-to-watch fights, if GBP can actually get top fighters to face him.
Technique wise he's sloppy. Shoulda been dropping that left hook to stop Quintana from running. And his right was a lil high. But when he landed on Quintanas gloves you could see Quintana had that look like "oh ****!"
Counter puncher with big power who can bring the fight to you. Rare. Hopefully gets in with a live body next time out.
