Thompson will last about as long as I would.

Povetkin would be the best fight for Wladimir, but I don't give him much of a chance. But he'll certainly last longer than Thompson.

Povetkin showed improved hand speed against 'fat' Eddie-surprising progress IMO.

Unless Wlad gets hit on the chin. Otherwise, I agree. :good

Thompson doesn't get hit as much as Povetkin. He's got smooth skills and he's a southpaw. Does anyone remember what happened the last time Wlad fought a tall, world class southpaw?:smoke :smoke

I'd say Povetkin but Thompson has been waiting longer so he should get the first ass kicking.

Wlad already showed he has trouble getting off against a southpaw. And Thompson is also a more seasoned fighter than AP.

Tho I think he beats them both.

He did OK against a short, world class southpaw, although it wasn't the most exciting fight ever.

Sanders didnt beat him becz he was tall or a southpaw; Wlad has impressive victories over numerous southpaws AND guys close to his height. He just couldnt deal with Sanders speed and power; Sanders just made him fight and battered him senseless. his size has something to do with being able to make wlad engage, but that doesnt matter as re. Thomspson, he doesnt have the power or the speed on his jab to be too competitive on the outside.

Thomspon is good on the inside though, so he might be able to frustrate Wlad a la Brock and steal a few rounds. however if I had to bet on it I'd take Wlad early / mid- Ko. :good

To beat Wlad, speed and power are necessary, Thompson possesses neitehr. Wlad is Mr. Un - outpointable, he can get KO's by a fast powerpuncher, but nobody can outbox him.

You know who told me to bet on Thompson V Wlad Adam Booth (Haye's trainer) I'm not a "Troll" I just don't think Wlad is unbeatable or even very good.

well byrd and iggy were south paws and they barely scratched the boxscore in 30+ rounds versus wlad. sanders had massive power and a very aggressive style. dont forget, that wald was very flat-footed and did not know how to play defense.

problem with thompson is he stands in the pocket too much. anybody who stands in front of wlad like that is going to get lit up. he's not a power puncher and not slick afoot like iggy.

it's going to get ugly....as for povetkin, im not sold on his chin and punch resistance. he looks susceptible to the right and looks prone to swelling. he has average power. i think he's gonna get brutalized. like peter, he will walk straight into punches but i doubt his chin or eyes will hold up for long. who knows? he might prove to have an iron chin and will as the rumors/pretense of his illness against chambers prove to be true...but i would be surprised if either is around past round 7 from what ive seen from both

A third of the votes for Thompson? Wow..

Thompson brings absolutely nothing in a fight against Wlad. He obviously has little to no chance of winning, but Thompson does deserve a title shot and he has worked hard to get here so we'll just have to endure watching another Wlad mismatch this summer.

do u think your boy will fight a stay busy fight or sit on his position? personally, id like him to fight virchis/iggy/haye next. win that, then that sets up a compelling wlad-povetkin fight

btw, do u like my new avy. :grouphug
