Who is Vitali's greatest Win?

I can understand an argument for Marciano (unbeaten), Holmes (longevity) or Foreman (2 careers, oldest champ) but nobody else belongs before Lewis.

Larry Homes era was weak as an old man's **** stream.

 

Ya for sure Ruskull. I am always shocked when people deny Lewis any credit. THe man beat everyone put in front of him, never dodged any1, and was in a pretty talented division overall.

A lot of those guys (mccall , rahman, briggs, vitali, etc) are STILL fighting for titles years later so that should say something too about his legacy.

Part of the problem when rating a currently active fighter is that any opponents they've beaten might still go on to rule after the guy you're rating has retired.

In Vitali's case Solis could go on to rule after VK retires. He could conceivably beat Wladimir and look impressive doing so. I consider Wlad to be in his prime time right now. That would mean a lot to Vitali's legacy since he holds a first round KO over Solis.

Eddie Chambers is a very good boxer & it would certainly add to Wlad's legacy if Chambers were to go on & get a belt.

 

I've been known to partake in a Guinness or two but you can't drink quantity.

Speaking of BEER...allow me to chime in. Those of you who have not tried KingFischer from India , give it a whirl. It's got the hop and bite of Heineken but a bit better overall IMO. The usual green bottle lager stuff, but well worth the price of a 6-pk.

 

Screw all detractors in the butt if they don't appreciate a wild brawl with thrills and chills like "V.K.-Sanders" displayed in Los Angeles back on HBO in 2004....... What the hell do fans want?

Granted, Sanders by 2004 was aging and not the best conditioned, but his toughness, desire and southpaw style paid dividends while the slugfest was going on for almost 8 rds of heat....

Exactly. Vitali's success continually adds to Lewis legacy since he owns a legit win via ref stoppage over Vitali. Why do you think Vitali wants a rematch so bad & Lewis doesn't? Lewis doesn't need it Vitali does, plain & simple. Shannon Briggs' victory over Liakovich for a second stint at a Championship actually added to Lewis legacy as well.

 

Lewis arguably fought in the second best Heavyweight era ever, of course that adds to Lennox's legacy. Too bad he never fought Bowe, Byrd & Ruiz. If he beat those guys & never lost by KO to McCall & Rahman he'd have an argument for number 1-2.

Great post Mr Bill! Hard to believe Sanders was done with his career at that point, he had more fight left in him...but I think Golf got the better of him haha. If he was serious, his career would have been SERIOUS. He had a pretty decent chin too, but Vitali certainly bulldozed him.

Me too man, Mr. Lennox is a true ATG. Would loved to have seen him vs. Bowe that woulda been so awesome. Pretty sure he would school Byrd & Ruiz but interesting while it lasted. I am a big Rahman fan, so that combo KO he gave him was unforgettable. McCall possibly has the best chin ever in history so when Lewis beat him in his prime that was killer too.

Getting KO'd by Lennox Lewis. Realistically it's a loss, but his fans seem pretty proud of it.:-(
