Damn right he would. This is a ridiculous fight anyways. Bring on the damn title already! Oldlegs stop being a *****.
Virchis was outboxed for 12 rounds by Michael Sprott.Biggest judging scandal since Lewis-Holyfield 1...
Why are some dicks on here going on like Peter has good skills ??? .... He has AVERAGE skills at best .... i cant see how anybody can say Peter would destroy Virchis .... He'd maybe be slight favourite, but with Virchis sheer power and tenacity he'd have more than punches chance ..
By no stretch can you say that, Danny knocked him down in the first round with a jab to the body. It was little more then a sparring session, and the second Danny turned up the heat in the 3rd he won.
I like Peter because he is an entertaining fighter but I agree with you, what is it with some people here that make him to be that skilful fighter? Ok he beat Toney, so what. The fat steroid muncher got almost beat by Batchelder. :nut IMO Peter with Virchis is a 50/50 fight. Moreover, if Peter comes in out of shape, I would go with Virchis by a UD because he always comes in in shape.
Danny did have some trouble with Serin. He looked quite average against that journeyman. It is probably a bit exaggerated to say that Serin made the water hot for Danny, but within his limitations he was quite competitive against Danny.
I quite agree with you, shpion! Some people make it sound as if Peter were the undisputed number two behind Wlad. Peter went the full route with very limited Croation heavy Jovo Pudar, and had two very lame fights against that fat dwarf Toney. Besides Paolo Vidoz kicked him out of the olmypic tournament-Peter looked horrible against Vidoz. Virchis twice beat the Italian olympian quite convincingly. What's more Peter's style is tailor made for Virchis:a predictable stationary target. I for my part think that Virchis has the upper hand in firepower, and Peter's defence is quite leaky. Virchis doesnt look that convincing against fast movers as could be seen against Bidenko or Sprott, but whoever tries to duke it out with him is lost. Pure madness to go toe to toe with such an awesome banger. Peter wouldnt be able to go more than 5 rounds with Virchis IMO.
The amateurs don't mean anything at the pro level. Peter is quite strong and powerful as well and he has a rock solid chin. Virchis doesn't exactly have great defense either, so you could also say it may be bad for Virchis to stand toe to toe with Sam Peter. And I would bet that Virchis wouldn't KO Toney who may be old, fat, and short, but is still good defensively and is tough as nails.
Slow as hell, one dimensional and his punch is overrated in my opinion. I've seen plenty of Vladimir Virchis, he's a glorified journeyman with good power.
Please Brooklyn, Toney would have easily outboxed Virchis, Sprott was well on his way, as was Bidenko. Peter mauled Toney in the 2nd affair. Virchis is not in anyway comparable to Peter, Odo just nuthugs eastern european fighters like many Americans only nuthug American fighters. Him overrating a glorified journeyman like Virchis, whom if was a western fighter he wouldn't care about by the way, is no surprise.
He'd get KTFO in a few rounds, his chin is good, but he's a stationary target for Peter to throw those wild haymakers on, just like the one he landed on Jeremy Williams. Seeing as Sprott can stun Virchis, well, that generally dictates that Peter can starch him as soon as he lands the right shot on the button. Peter also starches Chagaev and Ibragimov, whom have both struggled with mediocre fighters when they were near to what they are now, where as Pudo for Peter was way earlier and doesn't reflect his improvements. Bringing up the amatuer examples is also ridiculous, this is professional HW boxing. Vidoz was a good amatuer, what's he done in the pro's? Not every champion level amatuer is a Povetkin or a Solis.
imo toney would not easliy outbox virchis, maybe when toney first moved up to hw not this toney im sorry... this love affair wit sam peter makes me laugh u guys will see
