Who is / was more protected Lucian Bute or Canelo?

    True but Bute has a much longer amatuer background than Canelo does. As far as I'm aware, Canelo only started boxing at 13 before he turned pro at 15 and was forced to pretty much learn on the job where as Bute ha an extensive amatuer background and went to the world amatuer championships (where he got KOd by Golovkin).

    Canelo is young and learning, GBP are moving him along at a decent pace right now, he's fighting some experienced opposition, most of which are on the downside of their careers but who have enough to give Canelo some good learning experiences.

    I don't think he should have a belt at this point because he hasn't fought opposition worthy of that yet in my opinion but he is being moved well and given the right fights to learn and he should be in some big fights in the next few years when he starts fulfilling his potential.

    canelo is a young champion and is getting pushed accordingly. bootay whole damn career was full **** until he ran into the **** stopper.bootay is almost 40 yrs old and never fought a decent fighter his whole damn career.

    Bute has fought Magee, Andrade, Miranda, Froch, Bika, Johnson and Froch again

    Canelo has fought Mosley, Cintron, Rhodes, Hatton and Cotto's brothers

    So what? Canelo is supposed to be 154 WBC World Champion for god sake! His title defences have been a complete disgrace and a joke.
