Who is/was the best expert commentator on HBO?

Personally, I liked Roy Jones Jr.'s breakdowns & analysis better than most.
(I'll add Ray Leonard, Once you get over the 2 second pause effect in his delivery)

 

Jones was good....he would actually say things before they happen! When you can work out what he is saying he breaks it down better than anyone!

Roy Jones was probably the best I heard. He seemed to know exactly what both boxers were going through

Steward is ok as well though

Lewis isn't a confident talker and it shows.
Foreman is just plain nuts, he talks complete bollocks
jones while inciteful is an arrogant **** "ooh he did a Roy Jones punch there"-**** off!
Mind you, I'd take any combination of the above if it meant getting rid of Lampley.

 

I liked Big George. The rest of these guys irritate me, but not more than Larry Merchant does. In my opinion, HBO has done a terrible job putting quality guys with Jim Lampley.

 

Big George, Merchant and Lampley... that was the best trio so far.

 

George was way too biased sometimes. Pissed me off in the Hopkins-Trinidad fight.
Steward is a good commentator, but too stoned or something.. not enough energy. The only time I've heard him getting excited was Toney-Jirov.

 

Yes! Big George loved him some De La Hoya. I believe he and Merchant would argue on who gets to swallow. Well maybe Merchant will pass if he can get Wlad's.
