Sorry i just caught this. Cobb could make any punch land. No matter how hard they tried they were no chance of missing.

Ah! Good to see there's another fan of Battling Jim on this site!

    Nice list.

His defense is up there for sure. So impressive in that he’d do it standing right in front of you even hands low just moving his shoulders and head. His defense was actually very entertaining. Normally if a guy has, was it 13 KO’s in about 140 fights you’d fear the worst but he’s a fun fighter to watch.

Mayweathers was great but there’s a few better. His matchmaking was better for sure but had Floyd fought the guys Benitez had I don’t think we’d mention Floyd. I always left a good, consistent jab would be a problem and when he’d throw his right he’d leave his chin in the air.

Whitaker was more impressive too. He did try to entertain the crowd a little bit more and definitely clown around more but unquestionably his defense was more impressive.

Maybe not at the apex but Maxim & Fourie come to mind.
Pep (duh) and Benitez (duh) of course.
    Many others...

Whitaker and Locche were better defensive boxers than Floyd.

Whitaker didn`t move off te center line much against Nelson and Ramirez, two fights I pick out because they were names and fought pea at lightweight, I feel his movement and constant punching kept those two fighters from landing much compared to Floyd slipping shots at close range. Loche was amazing though, if he had a punch then wow! 13 ko`s like someone said here is a shame, he would have been something else.
