Well you and I have different ideas of what constitutes 'success.' All three of those fights were mostly one sided beatings. Any popular fighter had those same wins they probably would not have even had success mentioned in the same sentence. I'm not sure how much you can call Duahapaus a scrub either since he just knocked out an unbeaten Helenius, maybe not what he was but still, he'd never been stopped. And how you can even argue Firtha having any success is beyond me. Firtha was a bloody mess in four rounds and Wilder didn't even look like he'd broke a sweat.
No idea, never put that kind of thought into him.. what I do know is all hw's for the next decade are simply trying for the #2 spot. We have a true, bonifide atg in the making in Anthony Joshua
So, lasting some rounds while losing every single one of them = success to you ? Casuals should have their own place in the forum. Right above the classic section. Those 2 options could literally be merged as only the casual sections. Ignorance welcomed could be the first thread
I guess i rank it on par with beating on an hospital patient It's debatable, but they're about the same at worst
Hey you're right, he's definitely the copy paste of Primo Carnera! Both ultra-china chinned, both only had size and power to rely on, both awkward uncoordinated spastic freaks :think I think we have a winner
Wilder's counterpart is Wiley E. Coyote. He keeps running and everything looks ok, until he runs over the edge of a canyon and for a second he's levitating in mid-air, looking at the audience. That's where Wilder is right now at this moment as the Povetkin fight is coming up. The next thing is Wiley & Wilder come crashing down to earth and reality.
Good amount of power, shaky chin and a questionable resume en route to winning a portion of the world heavyweight crown whilst not being considered the man at the weight. It's obvious, he's the black Tommy Morrison.
I'm interested by that and I think I see some of the similarities... Would you mind expanding on the parallels you see?
