Problem is Haye has never beaten anyone close to the fighters on Wlad's list. Haye beat guys like 38 year old Ruiz, 38 year old Barrett, 39 year old Harrison (who got knocked out by David Price who got knocked out by 42 year old Thompson) and unranked journeyman Chisora. Haye barely eeked out a decision over Valuev, one of the worst belt holders in recent HW history. I really don't understand how Haye would beat any of Wlad's opponents prime for prime. What are you basing this on? Fantasy?
Peter because he showed it all under tremendous pressure. He beat an undefeated knockout puncher. That fight stands out for me.
You obviously went and looked it up. I just went off the top of my head and nearly all his HW fights were around 215-217. Most heavy's can't train down to that , Haye trains trains up to it. He had to have a gym in the celeb jungle to maintain his build...My post was to a guy who said he had to dehydrate to make cruiser, which isn't true.
Haye's speed is too much for most heavyweights - as fury will find out. Haye's punch power is up there - nearly taking Valuev out! Chisora walked through Vital's punches all night but Haye finished him in 6. Haye's chin is underrated. Thompson KO was an age ago. Wlad landed big big shots and haye didnt drop once. who on that list beats Haye for you / Wlads best win
Peter dropped Wlad 3 times. It doesn't matter if two of them were to the back of the head , he was still dropped. If the shots were landed clean on his chin he would of went down faster and gotten up slower. Vitali rabbit punched Johnson all night long and he never went down once.
Regardless of the quality of them, my point is Wlad had three knockdowns scored against him. So he lost three round's 10-8 and STILL won a comfortable UD.
Haye struggled to make cruiserweight, he's about the same size as Muhammed Ali. He's bigger than Marciano and Dempsey. Ali was a light heavyweight in the amateurs, Haye was a heavyweight.
Ali was a teenage kid in the amateurs and he was only 18 when he turned pro. Haye has spent years doing weights and taking PEDs in order to develop his muscular physic, Ali was natural and weighted over 190lbs at 18, so he's not really that small. Oh, and Ali is about 100 times more skilled than Haye.
It may not be his "best" win, but his most important win was Peter I- not because that Sam Peter was the best fighter Wlad fought, but because his career was at a crossroads at the time and Peter was the most dangerous fight out there for him because of it. Being able to overcome the knockdowns (rabbit punches or not) and win put his career on the path back to prominence; had Peter knocked him out, Wlad's career would've had a major setback at best, but likely would've been in shambles.
Haye has stated he has to bulk himself up to heavyweight. He says he'd be 90kg or about 200lbs if he didn't train and bulk up. He has never looked anywhere near 17 stone. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s100/im-a-celebrity-uk/news/a442292/im-a-celebrity-david-haye-interview-i-want-to-be-a-bond-villain.html
People think Ali was a natural Light Heavyweight because he weighed 175-180lbs between the ages of 15 and 17
