So it had nothing to do with Gilbert refusing to engage when Aoki pulled guard which led to the pathetic displays of complaining to the ref when Gilbert punched him and buttscooting towards Gilbert in an attempt to get him on the ground? He show EXACTLY the same weakness' when he's lost in a ring. That just a pathetic excuse, the cage favours grapplers. See what happened in the Beerbohm match. The guy clinched got taken down and tapped. Basically gift for Aoki, but he's not good enough to utilise that advantage against top opposition

It's the other way around, taking credit from Melendez because the fight was in a cage. Reality is Shinya deserves zero credit for that match. Your quick to criticise GPS for being timid, so Id love to hear your evaluation of that match.

I don't know how you figure this, the cage give Aoki's opponenent a chane to lean up against it and avoid him mounting.

There are examples like Shogun who did not do as poorly as Aoki but against an opponent of not the same caliber.

Aoki is a different animal than Shields,

Aoki's Judo throws will be surprisingly effective once he learns to get the space to make them, and he doen't have to get you down to get to you:

Shinya had him up against the cage for 10 second in the 3rd round if Im not mistaken and Gilbert easily shrugged him off

The rest of the 24 minutes and 40 odd seconds was spent watching Shinya avoid Melendez at all cost like a ***git on the feet and when Gil did get close enough Aoki pulled guard which Gil shrugged of and had a WTF look on his face asAoki buttscooted towards him, which may I add took place mainly in the centre of the cage where the fence had no baring on the proceedings as you claim. End of story

The rest of that post is just some misguided loyalty to a cult of personality which has no bearing on Aoki's effectiveness as an MMA fighter

The buttscooting you refer to is Aoki's guard and is one of the most dangerous in MMA. Aoki was forced to leave this advantageous position over and over again by the referee.

Beekeeper fella, Aoki has one of the most dangerous guards in MMA. I think you genuinely misunderstood me. My point was he's pretty useless if he cant get you in his guard which his highlighted by the Melendez fight

So you agree with me than in a fight against top five opposition Aoki's options are limited?

That video reaffirms my point that Shinya is **** against top opposition

I don't know what you mean by limited, but I am telling you and Will to wait for a few cage fights before evaluating his potential in NA.
