    :rofl

If you count 2007, I think Ricky Hatton has lost a fight this year.

If you count 2007, Sultan Ibragimov is still undefeated and a HW title-holder.

bottom line is i rate RJJ and Bhop higher than i rate Tsyzu and all the fighters Marg and Darchinyan have beat.

I rate Ali as probably the best HW ever, but wouldn't call it a great scalp for Trevor Berbick.

Time will tell i think bhop looks great and Calzaghe's win over Bhop was a massive victory.

i think Rjj is looking decent and he has a few fights left in him, there is no way i am not going to say RJJ is a crap oldman fighter. so i am going to give Calzaghe credit for that.

i think most people have just written RJJ of... i have not.

I dont see why Marg beating Cotto was a bigger win than Calzaghe beating Hopkins.

Calzaghe was moving up in weight for the first time fighting the best guy in the division on his home ground,if you think fighting in a higher weight for the first time isnt tough why not ask Pavlik. If Pacman can manage to do the same then maybe he just edges out Calzaghe.

Cotto was a good scalp but I dont think it compares to actually moving up a weight and fighting the number one guy like Calzaghe did.Cotto is by far the naturally smaller guy compared to Marg anyway.

    Calzaghe
    Pacman
    Marg

Combined with the blowout fashion in which it was delivered, that Cotto is at the top of his game and the fact that we can add in the Cintron fight to win a title and what Margarito did is more impressive b/w those two fights than what Calzaghe did with a controversial SD win to an aging Hopkins and a joke fight against a shot RJJ.

I still think Darchinyan is Fighter of the Year though.

Hopkins, barring his first fight, had fought just one time at 175 (and a catchweight of 170). He didn't have much of a size advantage on Calzaghe.

More of the reason why Pavlik had so much trouble moving up in weight versus Hopkins as opposed to Calzaghe is the fact that Joe is simply a much better fighter than Pavlik. I wasn't quite clear on why there was so much demand for a Calzaghe-Pavlik fight, I always wanted to see Pavlik-Abraham instead because I thought Pavlik wasn't much of a challenge for Calzaghe.

Cotto was on top of his game, undefeated, and Margarito performed better against him than Joe did against Hopkins. On top of that, Cintron is a much better win than the 2008 version of Jones. Jones is just a name at this point. He's still fast, but hell, so was Taylor in 1994 when he rematched Chavez. So was Norris in the late 90s. Jones hadn't done really done anything impressive in the ring in five years. For crying out loud, he was getting hit with a ****ing jab off the hook, even the double jab off the hook, with some frequency by Tito.

Darchinyan's wins are better too. Mijares was a fighter of the year candidate going into the fight, and on top of his game. Vic didn't just win, he completely dominated him and beat his ass. That makes it two impressive stoppage victories over reigning titleholders in their primes, for both Vic and Margarito.

Oh without a doubt, but unless Pacquiao beats DLH, I also have Darchinyan as plain old fighter of the year, but wouldn't really argue too much if Margo got it.

Pac beats DLH he probably seals up fighter of the decade, let alone year.

Calzaghe should in no way, shape or form be in serious consideration for fighter of the year. I think if Wlad beats Rahman he has a more solid claim to fighter of the year than Calzage.

I'll take Vitali for that award...what he did was amazing even if it was against scam cheater.

Margarito has my vote for FOTY.

Round 12 of Vazquez-Marquez 3 is my round of the year.

Fight of the year is clearly Wlad-Iggy though :happy:happy:happy
