Most respectable journalists have Loma, Bud and GGG top 3 in some order. They're right.

I have Loma #1 personally, the fact that he was outboxing an amazing technician in Rigo impressed me far more than the result itself.

My vote is Crawford but I have to reexamine Loma seriously.

Ali struggled with Cooper, FMJ struggled with Castillo, etc... Everybody in history has had a bad night in them. GGG never walked through Ouma, don't make out Ouma was beating him on the cards though, he wasn't that good. Salido's work to the body of Loma showed how to beat Loma, IMO.

Good post. Jacobs v GGG fight I feel was a bit of a sneaky advantage with not weighing in for the IBF. Petty some might think, but it just don't feel right to me.

I didn't. Like you said, everyone in boxing has had a though night.
Loma lost to Salido in a close fight. It happens.

Btw, Loma is now a lot better at controlling the distance. Its not as easy to get so close to him now as it was back then. Lomas lead hand is a lot more active and hes more responsible when it comes to defensive responsibility. Vs Salido, Loma often had a more stationary guard when Salido mounted an offense. Now Loma looks to control his opponents more.
Something that ****ed DeGales homecoming. Just sat on the ropes with a high guard, letting Truax do whatever he wanted.

All the work to Loma's body and he was still close to KO'ing Salido at the end. If boxers go to his body now at this stage, they are likely to leave themselves wide open for his rapid fire counters. Hes complete since he fought Salido !

I want to see Loma in with a Cotto/Hatton type of fighter before I start calling him the greatest ever.

GGG barely nicks it. The strongest claim for p4p best will be decided in his rematch with Canelo. If Canelo wins the rematch he's head and shoulders above the rest and likewise for Golovkin.

Loma hasn't beaten enough top 10 ranked fighters to warrant being placed at #1.. Officially he's p4p#3.

Golovkin - Lomachenko - Crawford. Couldn't be arsed to finesse the differences, they're all neck and neck. Put a gun to my head, I'll take Golovkin.

I have GGG as my number 1 out of respect, same way FMJ held onto the number one spot for years even though he was way past his best. Number two for me is Bud, simply because I find him a more complete fighter than Loma.

What do you feel Crawford has that Loma doesn't?

Both have elite offence/defence, the reason I pick Crawford over him is that power. If Loma had power, I'd have him over Bud, that lack of power will not help him against those tough, durable bodysnatchers in the future. When doing P4P lists, I don't even think about resume. I judge based on just skills, how I think they would fare vs other elite guys in higher weights. I think Crawford will beat everybody at 147lbs with his skills(I think he finishes Horn late), I can't confidently pick Loma to dominate a higher division because of that lack of power. RG's lack of power at the higher weights was his undoing, I think it'll eventually be the undoing of Loma.

To me, a complete fighter needs power, as well as elite defence/offence. Its no good having all the skills in the world and not being able to keep guys off you, like Paulie.

between 3G, Canelo, who are on equal footing at the moment, with both Crawford and Kovalev offering arguments against it.

Edge to Crawford for being undefeated

    Probably not.
But consider the second part of my post. If Crawford can beat Spence that speaks volumes. It would be equivalent to Loma Beating Garcia.
