Choose a ringside analyst, a blow by blow anouncer, and a color commentary provider from either network (ESPN, HBO, showtime, dazn, etc.) My favorite 3 are max kellerman, he sees what fighters notice even without have been lacing up the gloves, a plethora of deep knowledge. Jim lampley: the best in the biz, max called him the best he'd ever heard, I agree. He is smooth on the mic, proactive not reactive, helps paint an illustration. And big George foreman: always on point, knows what's up, high ring iq. Brings a lot of depth into the game. Always a treat to hear his commentary with his advanced ring iq! Honarable mention: Sergio Mora, Paulie mallinaggi, Mauro renalo, Al Bernstein.
Max Kellerman if Andre Ward’s name and “STORY OF THE FIGHT” is not allowed can be very insightful.. Roy Jones has a good eye for things before it happens and does a great job articulating what is about to happen.. He calls things like when a fighter is unable to dodge or block and incoming hook which could become a problem later in the fight. Paulie maybe has the clearest speech and like Roy has a great eye for what is actually happening in the ring not using his imagination while blindly favoring A side fighter.. I felt he did an excellent job in Wilder/Fury 1.. Although I live in Texas I’ve been enjoying Carl Froch(My favorite fighter) and George Groves commentary as of late.. I think it’s hilarious when Carl Froch squeezes in 80,000 in every telecast.. lol sorry I didn’t read the question I assumed you meant ideal team of any 3
Any combination of Lampley, Steward, Foreman, Jones and Merchant and over on Showtime, Farhood, Tompkins and Marquez.
Who is this mannix guy? I heard he's like Larry merchant, lol they used to call Larry "marry lerchant" while he was sipping on his booze lol just a joke
Great call on Steward I forgot about him. He was another guy that called in as it was without any bias.. I would have loved to hear him call any of the HW fights in the AJ-Fury-Wilder era.. His insight would have been excellent since he trained the last 2 GREAT HWs
He's a writer and an absolute hack. Is terrible on commentary and an even worse judge. He's absolutely nothing like Larry Merchant, whoever you heard that from, should stop watching boxing immediately, because he's a ****ing idiot.
Howard Cosell, Larry Merchant, Emanuel Steward with Bert Sugar via satellite. Holy f(*&k I can smell the scotch and stogies now!
Not so much a trio, but I used to enjoy Ian Darke and Glen McCrory on Sky. Jim Watt was controversial, but he was entertaining and I enjoyed that era on Sky. Now we are left to suffer from the likes of Tony (or is it Anthony?) Bellew and Carl Froch alongside Adam Smith, who's decent.
We like malinaggi here in the uk Adam Smith is awful! Ronald Macintosh is the worst!!! John Rawling was ok but seems to have gotten worse over the years I prefer it when they have retired boxers like froch or haye
Exactly. Those 3 were old school and didn't pander as much to the Matchroom hype train. I recall people wanting rid of Watt and saying how annoying he was. He had more knowledge than the current idiots put together. Careful what you wish for comes to mind.
