My favorite boxer is Winky Wright. I liked the story at first, how he couldn't get fights in the US, as he was high risk-low reward, so he fought in Europe, roaming around like a nomad. His big break in the US came with the Vargas fight and I remember Merchant saying don't count Wright out as he was a real fighter. Vargas, at the time, was undefeated and was being groomed for superstardom. The fight was awesome, and Winky knocked his mouthpiece out in the 11th, I think. Of course he went on to beat Mosely and Trinidad and had a great fight with Taylor. I just liked his defensive style. It was like he had this force field up when he put his hands up, as his arms seemed to cover his entire torso, and right at the bottom were these razor-sharp elbows. He was defensive without being a back peddler. Winky stayed in the pocket and got it done.

After Winky, I've got to go with, in no order,:
    Trinidad- his events were electric.
    Holyfield- granite chin, amazing ability
    Morales- enough said
Barrera- transitioning from a brawler to a technician in the middle f his career
Pac- amazing to watch...he always fights hard
Vitali- he's so awkward, but he whips ass
Julio Caesar Chavez- I grew up watching him fight and I'll never forget the Camacho fight
Josh CLottey- reminiscent of Winky, but probably hits harder
Casameyor- a lighter, Cuban version of Hopkins
Sorry for the long list, once I started typing I couldn't shut myself up

Roy Jones jr. I grew up during his reign as p4p king. Power in both hands, elite hand and foot speed, and very entertaining. Roy vs Paz was the first boxing match I saw, and until he was knocked out by Tarver, he was god to me.

Historically, George Foreman :good I doubt we will ever see a boxer win the HW title 20 years apart again :bbb

Plus, I actually got to meet Big George while he was HW Champ back in 1995. I remember when I was shaking his hand thinking "Damn this is the hand that destroyed Joe Frazier" :bbb

Currently, Wlad Klitschko. I still don't see anybody beating him in the next few years or so and he's a class act all the way :thumbsup

    Marvelous Marvin Hagler -

An iron chin welded to an iron will , unbreakable spirit , ferocity - an icon of a golden era for fighters from 147 to 160 with his bald head and goatee , a perfect fighting machine and arguably the best ever at middleweight - yes including Robinson and Monzon.

    also worthy of mention :

Lamotta Benn Morales Holyfield Corrales Chavez Duran McCallum and Jackson

    Tito Trinidad.

He always put a smile on my face. Before, during, and after fights. What more could you ask for?

    Roy Jones Jr.

Superman. Like watching Michael Jordan in the ring. Also, a very nice guy. He got me into boxing hard core.

Remember when ITV would screen the Eubank fights on TV on a saturday night ? man those were the days - the streets would be deserted , unheard of ratings for a boxing match - 16 million for Benn v Eubank II
more than 25 % of the population of the UK - all hoping to see Eubank get put on his arse - what a showman.
