Nobody even comes close at 160. Toney was tough to extreme levels and had a rock chin. Great defense aswell. At heavy he maybe could be stopped be wont be easy.
A lot of heavyweights. If you do fantasy matchups of many prime 90's heavyweights against the heavyweight version of Toney, I think it is easy to envision Toney getting stopped. Tyson, Ruddock, Bowe, Lewis, Douglas, even McCall would have a shot. Toney faced some weak comp. at heavyweight compared to these guys at or near their primes.
Jackson had improved quite a bit since the McCallum fight 4 years earlier. His knockouts of Terry Norris and Herol Graham were chilling. And, the McCallum-Jackson fight was a bit of a quick stoppage in my opinion. McCallum was certainly not having an easy time with Jackson before the stoppage. And, I was simply documenting the fact that after every single victory at middleweight, Julian Jackson called out James Toney on national television with no response from Toney. (I have recently rewatched the videos to confirm). Truth be told, I think Toney would hang on tight through some scary moments to stop Jackson late. But, the fact remains, Jackson wanted the fight and Toney was oddly reticent in response. What good reason would Toney have had for not unifying the belts?
