    offensive fighter's Vs. Defensive fighters?

    And

    winners Vs. Loosers

i think that defensive fighters make better trainers. and also think loosers make better trainers.. not to put freddy down.. but from what i hav read and from his own words he was not that great and he learned why

I don't think it's a case of winners or losers, I think it is a case of you don't have to have been an ATG boxer to become an ATG trainer, infact great boxers rarely become great trainers, just as great footballers rarely become great managers.

i think its true that the best coaches were typically failures

think about it they failed they know what they did wrong many of the guys who werent good competitors were knowledgeable and did everything they could to be good at the sport

got good coaches studied hard trained hard but they jjust couldnt put it all together whether it was physically they couldnt compete or maybe something held them back mentally

many times when a good athlete coaches they expect their pupils to be as good as they were and show them how to do something and expect it done at a certain level

also the greats arent used to failure and are typically naturally gifted or just were sponges and grasped the sport so well that they cant comprehend their learners shortcomings

I have not yet seen a winning fighter make a good trainer. McGirt is the closest that comes to it and he isn't the best at neither.

now maybe some greats who werent naturally gifted and came up tough could be good trainers because they know what its like and the inns and outs of boxing

I guess with that logic Hopkins could probably be a good trainer

yea.. i think thats the case for all sports.. the greats were so great it was natural and they never really learned the game as far as studied. it came naturally.. jordan wont coach he rather own.. sugar ray. great technical boxer. wont really train. joe montana no where near football.

Great athletes make bad coaches because they expect everyone to be able to do what they did. I did it, so can you! lol, that's not how things work.

this and a lot of what they do is instinct and natural talent.

Great fighters may unconsiously do something right and not know it and don't know how to teach it
