    Billy Stift in 1902 fought Marvin Hart, Joe Walcott, Tommy Ryan, Jack Root, Philadelphia Jack O'Brien & George Gardner.

    Billy Stift is hardly a houshold name, so this was a rather difficult question, I think... but of course you cracked it:good

    There have been quite a few men, who have met 5 world champions in the same year - but (though I can't be 100% certain) I believe Stift is the only one who fought 6!
