Alvarez is nothing special either..plus he's short.

Compare both guys best wins and best performances.

 

Jones UD or KO. Alvarez almost got KO-ed by Jose Cotto. Alvarez sucks and would lose in a more devastating fashion to Selcluk Aydin, Jan Zaveck, and Sergiy Dzinziruk, who would all easily KO Jones.

 

Boxing doesn't work that way.

I wasn't using that to predict the winner I was just showing who was more overrated. Alvarez beat better opposition and looked good while doing it.

 

As much as I liked him, I wouldn't call Canelo "polished". He is a work in process

 

Jesuschrist!!!!!! Mike Jones looks at least 20 pounds heavier than his opponent!!!

 

Mike jones would be a very good test for Canelo at 147, and vice -versa. I could see Alvarez coutering him here and there but I could also see Jones Philly style giving Canelo some problems as well. I think Alvarez is the stronger of the two, and I give the edge in speed to Jones. In my opinion Canelo has the better technique, and because of this I'll side with him in a close decision. But I do not, dismiss Jones.

 

Alvarez 55/45 Jones. In three years Alvarez 75/25 Jones.
