Honestly, I did not miss Floyd one bit while he was retired. boxing kept going, there were great fights and I don't remember hearing any fans complaining that they wished he was back. He said he came back because the fans demanded it. WHO??? We all know now it was because he needed money for the IRS and is fighting just for needed money. Does anyone else feel having him around again is just annoying. He is boring in the ring anyway. It was a releif for him and his loud mouth to go the first time, he always promised fireworks but never delivered. Aside from him finally fighting Mosley, I can't stand it. I hope he retires again immediatley after win or lose. Boxing WILL live on and he can sit and delude himself of being the GOAT. :D

come on... he is a hell of a boxer, and a major attraction. The sport was less colourful without him in it.

To be honest I didn't miss him at all. The division he left was still loaded with talented fighters who were more entertaining to watch so there really wasn't any void left with his departure from the sport.

You're criticising Mayweather because boxing "kept going" during his retirement? News flash: boxing kept going after Ali retired, after SRR retired and after Joe Louis retired.

Are you saying you don't want to see Mayweather-Mosley and Mayweather-Pacquiao? Do you like boxing?

I can't tell that people didn't miss him here. Because while he was retired his every other thread was about him and those that were here back then can vouch for it.

Oh, come on. I don't like him either and I'm glad he's back. He's a great fighter, why wouldn't we want more of those in circulation? It's good for the sport.

I totally missed him. The other fighters were nice, but I like my fighter to have a little edge to him. Tyson got me started, then it was Oscar and then Floyd. Yep, I'm a front runner!

The natural next step would have been Pacquiao, but for all of his explosiveness, there was just something missing. I would NEVER miss a Floyd fight, but I had no trouble hearing about Manny's fight the next day.

I'm very happy Floyd is back.
I hope it's more than for just two / three fights, but I feel like he might just be trying to bank a quick $30M and then retire again.

Jesus. It just dawned on me that if the stories of him losing his money were true and he comes back for about two total years, he'll have it ALL back and possibly more. Phenomenal.

    Oh well!

    He's back for money.

    Since he has returned:

    Beat up a lightweight.
    Discredited Shane Mosley.
Convinced 1/3 of boxing fans, albeit the idiots, that pacquiao is on roids
Failed to make the biggest fight
Didn't make weight in his last fight

Gee, what else can this magnificent talent bring.

Doesn't matter what people "SAY" in this thread, from the time he retired in June 08 - May last year, a day but definitely NOT a week went by where his name wasn't mentioned here..
