Im prone to say that Margo just wasnt in the right psychological mindset to fight that night considering what happened, but Ill keep an open mind. Since its only one fight since then, I'd like to see both shane and cotto fight again, although its much less likely for shane to pull over especially considering hes pushing into his 40s now.

Don't go there. I like Cotto. I don't want to say anything rough about him.

Concerning cotto, the difference between the two was that cotto had a year and a half and two fights to recover from his first loss, he said so himself, whereas with Margo you got even Naz shitting bricks thinking he stopped the fight... you still think their respective psyches were the same..?

I have my dobuts that you are going to be correct. As time goes by people are going to realize that Mayweather beat better boxers than Pacquiao did. They are also going to understand that Mayweather is a much better boxer.

Floyd needs this fight because he needs to end up with a better legacy than guys like jofre, whitaker, argeullo, and chavez. It is very likely that when he retires he will be ranked above all of them.

Resume wise, Pac didn't get fighter of the decade for having an inferior dance card to Floyd.

Floyd COULD still close the last few years of his career taking on bigger challenges.

Just wondering where do you rank Jofre, Whitaker, Argeullo and Chavez?
Not making any judgments just asking a question.

thing is, with legacy the resume is far far more of a consideration than people's subjective opinions on who's simply the better boxer.

i think your first point about may beating better boxers is indefensible tbh. but by that, u must feel that floyd is already higher in the atg ranking, if hes a better boxer and has beaten better opponents?

    Well this is my ranking.

    1. Ray Robinson-best welterweight
    2. Harry Greb-best middleweight
    3. Sam Langford- p4p great
    4. Ezzard Charles- best light heavyweight
    5. Henry Armstrong- p4p great
    6. Muhammad Ali- best heavyweight

After that is a drop-off in my opinion, but i would probably rank whitaker around 15-20, with chavez at 25, argeullo and jofre behind him. Hagler and Monzon are about the same tier as whitaker.

Mayweather has fought better oppoents than Pacquiao. Mayweather has beaten Better oppoents than Pacquiao.
If that does not make for a better resume than Pacquiao than I don't know what dose.

If I understand correctly you would rank Mayweather somewhere between 7--14?
