Macklin Barker winner would be good. Its a good fight against a european champion and Pirog was supposed to fight Macklin in April anyways,So if Macklin beats Barker this fight could actually happen this time.

I don't think Pirog is ready for someone like Pavlik, Williams, or Martinez yet. Those are very experienced and top veteran fighters. All three of them would be solid favorites over Pirog right now. Pirog's win over Jacobs was a good win but Jacobs was just a prospect himself(and one I always thought was a bit overated), so I wouldn't put him at the top of the division right now.

Pirog would be best served by defending his title 2-3 times against some solid fighters. Guys like Rubio, Manfredo, Lopez, etc are all solid veterans who could give Pirog some solid rounds. After a couple defenses of his title a match between Pirog and one of the big three would be intersting.

Pirog would destroy pavlik easier than Jacobs. But I think he should go for Chavez Jr. A name and a fight that he is very capable of winning.

Pirog belongs in the ring with the likes of Martinez, Williams ,Pavlik, Sturm , sylvester. If anyone cant see that then i would have to put it down to fanboys worrying that their fighter getting beat by this guy. Pirog deserves the big HBO stage along the other big names and he doesnt have to prove himself no more.

Belongs in the ring with Martinez? Really?

Pirog would be quickly forgotten if that were to happen next.

What did Danny jacobs do to deserve to be on HBO exactly? Pirog knocked out the best american middle weight contender and now he shouldnt be considered the best legit challenger for martinez?
Pirogs the only guy in the division who has proved on american soil hes worthy to challenge martinez. If martinez vs williams 2 is up next then the fans will get another great fight but after that pirogs a belt holder who should be considered......

You're using the same argument in opposite ways to support your point. Jacobs hasn't done anything to warrant being on HBO yet the next sentance you're praising Pirog for knocking out the best american middleweight contender.

Anyway, just think what Martinez would have done to Jacobs on Saturday. Same with WIlliams. Same with Pavlik. Pirog showed that he's ready to step up but let's see another step or two before we're talking about a massive fight.

No you"re avoiding my question on why pirog must still prove himself before he is considered a challenger for martinez?

Look im happy with the Martinez vs Williams 2 as would any fan would be but pirog has after williams as much right to fight for the lineal as any other Middle weight title holder/ contender.

Pirog has a whopping 92 rounds of professional experience. For a good example of how prospects do against experienced veterans, Grady ****ing Brewer has snatched about 5 zeros away from unsuspecting prospects. That may seem like an odd comparison, but I'm making a point. We ain't talking about Pirog fighting a guy like Brewer. What we have is some very foolish posters trying to pit a prospect against one of the 3 best middleweights of the current era! That is a very bad idea.

I would like to see him face Darren Barker once he outpoints Macklin but I have a funny feeling we will see a big clash in Germany against one of their fighters.
