Easy question... Who has the best heavyweight resumé of these 3?

I've included all their "major" fights, titles and important matchups.
For example I included Peter's MD loss to Chambers while it wasn't for any title, but it was an important fight. So was Haye's TKO win over Barrett.

You should make it clear that you meant "heavyweight" resume. Otherwise you've conveniently left out all Hayes big Cruiserweight fights

I voted Haye. He's had a lesser career but more dominant wins. Peter is a clear third.

Indeed... It only says HW in the title. And it isn't clear in my post.
    I'll fix that! :good

    1. Ruslan Chageav has two solid top 5 wins: the undefeated Valuev and a still troubling Ruiz. Virchys was also in the Ring top 10, and despite his limitations was known as one of the hardest active punchers of the time.

    2. Peter has three top 5 wins, most impressively the second Toney fight(fat or not, he schooled Ruiz at the same weight). Despite suffering form mounting injuries, Oleg wasn't looking too bad at this time, stunningly KOing a very game Rahman yet again. Could argue him over Chageav but some terrible performances against McCline, Vitali, and Chambers. But than Chageav is starting to show up pudgy himself.

    3. Haye has a less impressive decision over top 5 Valuev. Ruiz had long since dropped from the top 10 by the time he got to him. He tops the other two if you include his Cruiserweight accomplishments...but at HW, you have to be joking? I don't know the agenda but Haye's buzz has little to do with his accomplishments above 200 lbs, its the combination of agility, speed, and power he brings to the table that have people interested in a Wlad/Vitali fight. But than as I always said, people were saying the same thing about Sultan at the time..he just didn't have any charisma.

I don't see anything close about it.

Sam Peter clearly has the better resume, beating previous world champions Toney (x2), Maskaev. Contenders, McCline, Aguilera, Williams.

Chagaev's best win is Valuev, followed by Ruiz. Not much there beyond that, that I recognize.

Haye fought a shot Ruiz, and journeymen Harrison and Barrett. Personally I think he lost to Valuev.

How can the only negative you add onto the Toney fight is his weight? You also mention the fact he beat Ruiz but that was two years before and he was on steroids. Peter scraped by him and most people think he lost the first fight. In the rematch, Toney was clearly shot.

And Maskaev was badly deteriorated by the time Peter beat him.

Too tough to call. As far as a heavyweight resume, I would say Sam Peter. I could see where some people could put Chagaev ahead of him though.

Jack...your on my IGNORE list. And after taking a peek you will remain so.

Yeeesh, not surprised you seriously put Haye :lol::lol: I guess his wins over Valuev and Ruiz clearly trumps what Chageav already did a few years ago.

And yeah, I'm sure the drastic difference in the Toney/Peter fights has nothing to do with Peter actually using his jab and staying outside as noted by everyone who watched the fight at the time..nah, Toney just became "shot" over night after busting the guy up a few months prior and dedicating himself into getting in better shape for the rematch by hiring Billy Blanks as his personal trainer.

This about sums it up for my thoughts as well, good job Mongoose! Look forward to 2011 for all these guys, too bad Haye is calling it retirement in October. Would like to see some more matchups with him even though i am not a huge fan of his.

Thanks, just calling it like I see it. Actually wouldn't mind seeing Haye/Chageav before he fights Wlad; should be a solid test over a Klistchko victim that still has a good ranking and some fight left in him.

Hoping after Wlad/Adamek we see another attempt at the fight being made.

    haye-chagaev-peter.

chambers also has a good resume out of the current bunch.

haye and chag have pretty much beaten the same people, but i think a win over barret trumps a win over skelton.

Purely based on HW resume, on paper, Chagaev has the best. But Haye has looked better than Chagaev in his actual fights.
