Who On Here,Thinks A Prime Langford Beats A Prime Johnson?
The Johnson who tortured Jim Jeffries was, by his own admission, his best version.

1910. 208 lbs with no fat on him.
Just prior to the Jeffries fight .
Johnson cabled his brother Claude ,"Put your house on me to win" .
Pick which Langford you think is prime, match them.
    Who gets your money?

Johnson, too big, too slick, and I think it would have happened if Johnson wasnt effectively made an outlaw

I certainly don't. Prime Langford does not beat Prime Johnson. Prime Langford however would have beaten Johnson Past 1912/13 I think.

My money would go on Johnson but I would be worried a little.

Langford would have a chance of KO'ing Jack Johnson at any time but I believe Johnson would get the better of it otherwise. He was very adept at dealing with smaller opponents, punishing them with the jab and dominating them in the clinches. Langford's power however would remain a threat and cause Johnson to be cautious at all times and there might not be much to it if it goes to a decision. Langford was so durable that it's difficult to envision a Jack Johnson stoppage unless it's a fight to the finish.

I don't. The match that they had was blown out of proportion. Johnson dominated Langford when they fought. Langford was an all-time great pound for pound fighter who could beat some great heavys. Johnson wasn't one of them, in my opinion.

Langford might have a puncher's chance but overall no.

I think that prime Langford would be the best fighter that Johnson ever faced. I also think you never know. I'd be picking Johnson though.

I think that Langford could be made favourite over every champion between and including Corbett and Braddock, excluding Jeffries and Johnson, if we're talking peak for peak.

I dissagree here. He would be 50/50 against most of them but he would be no favourie over more than those two. I think outside of Jeffires and Johnson, Dempsey, Tunney, Sharkey and Schmeling should be the favourite over Langford.

    Anything could happen.

I would make Johnson a favourite, but if I was a bookie, I would not offer odds that would give you a significant return if Langford won.

I guess I'd pick Jeffries for Johnson.

Langford is obviously much more difficult. How about the version that thrashed Jeanette over 15 in 1911?
