This "talk" you speak of, is it the same talk that was going on before the first Ward/Kovalev fight? You know, Ward will never get in the ring with Kovalev, Ward will price himself out of the fight, Ward will get injured so the fight won't happen or Ward will have more tune up fights! Is that the "talk" you mean?

Nothing wrong with a bit of "talk", surely?

Most people took for granted that there would be a rematch clause in the first contract. Surely this was the case.

Furthermore the fight was close and controversial. Therefore the fans deserve and quite rightly expect a rematch. Why not?

However Ward's attitude post fight and the ambiguous comments he has made in recent media interviews suggest that a rematch isn't necessarily so cut and dried and may not happen. He has even hinted at retirement. He certainly hasn't said anything that suggests he actually wants a rematch.

Therefore, people are inclined to "talk" about the situation and be critical of Ward. Easy to understand, really.

Stick up for Ward if you like, but he's a boring, unpopular fighter and the majority of people believe that he lost the Kovelev fight.

Talk is cheap! If you judge Ward by his actions, you must give him the benefit of the doubt and say the rematch is more than likely to happen! You are one of the few Ward detractors that admit the Kovalev/Ward fight was close! I give you props for that! Just for the record, I picked Ward to win but, feel Kovalev edged him out!

Perhaps Ward is being ambiguous at this point because he knows how fickle fans can be. He doesn't want to make any statements that can be used to fuel the Ward hate! Maybe! You Know if he says one thing and does something else, especially if it seems to work against Kovalev, fans would definitely be on the war path.

I agree I think Thurman loses this but he's not on the poll.

If any do, I'd suggest it will be Hughie Fury. Particularly if Fury meets Joseph Parker this year.

Garcia is fairly obvious but it really depends on who Burger boy fights next.

Ward owes us a rematch and he ought to at least say that he wants one even if he has terms and conditions attached. The bad attitude and ambiguity is unnecessary, I think. Getting an unpopular decision is bad enough but being awkward about a rematch just makes it worse.

Anyway, I also picked Ward to win, but I had to give it to Kovalev. Close, but clear. It was also a much better fight than I expected and I want to see it again regardless of who wins. I think everyone really enjoyed the first one.

I also thought Ward did really well to recover from the knockdown, come back and make the fight close. What a fighter; most guys probably wouldn't have recovered.

Anybody who knows anything about boxing wants to see a rematch between these guys! Very interested to see what adjustments each fighter makes. Could be a completely different fight from the first.

I just think people are making more of Wards attitude than need be! It's no surprise he is acting this way. He's never really been to friendly and somewhat cold. I don't see any difference in his attitude, so why make a big deal about it now!
