Who out there does NOT like Kelly Pavlik???

I was rooting for Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda. . . Pav beat both my boys down, but I just cant hate on the dude. He has the warrior spirit, he's the kinda no-nonsense fighter bixing needs.

 

Been a fan since he had to fight TWO eliminators to finally get a crack at Jermain Taylor's titles -_-. Kelly Pavlik is awesome.

 

And it shows your lack of knowledge to feel that Pavlik is a measure above fighters that Calzaghe's already beaten, to which he is clearly not to the more perceptive boxing fans who don't just watch to enjoy, but also analyse due to the enjoyment of seeing the absolute best work in the sport.

I like precision fighting, I just do. I've watched boxing so much that I can only handle a few non-precision fighters because they have other qualities that make it interesting.

There is nothing interesting about Pavlik, he doesn't have great skills, he's rather slow, he's flat footed, his timing has shown good so far but has yet to fight a guy with a real top defence and we already know his D is leaky. He made technical errors against Lockett, such as incorrectly leaning back to avoid wild haymakers from Lockett, that'd have left a serious opening to Calzaghe to land a perfect left hook off of the jab, or a straight left counter.

It just gets ridiculous. Pavlik is not what fighting is all about, everyone has different tastes.

To me, the best physical specimens in terms of skill and ability mixed are what the sport is all about, regardless of style, as they should be watched and appreciated for being such incredible, durable athletes.

 

I had Pavlik over Taylor twice. Easy picks.

 

Nothing against Pavlik, just not a fan like most of you.

 

I am a huge Pavlik fan, but the nuthuggers are overrating him. In their eyes, he KO's Kessler, Calzaghe and Dawson. I must have missed when he suddenly became this unbeatable cause I'd shell out a shitload of cash that he wouldn't be undefeated if he faced those three.

They are even making things out to look like Kessler is scared to death of Miranda and Pavlik scared of Calzaghe.

And for **** sakes, those jagoffs actually make it seem like Miranda is on Abraham's level, another way to try and make Pavlik look that much superior to everyone else.

Pavliks a good fighter and star on the rise but lets put things in to perspective. He has only beaten one world champion and yet to dominate his division. Pavlik is in the same league as King Arthur and even Jeff Lacy in terms of accomplishments and should be aiming at that level right now before taking on proven and established ATG like Calzaghe.

 

It is amazing how much credit you can get for beating Miranda when the guy has not even won a world title and lost to the only two competative world class fighter he has fought. I think his win over a shot Howard Eastman deluded his fans a bit.

 

You had Miranda over Pavlik and you hate Taylor. This disqualifies you.

 

I dont not like pavlik, i am a taylor fan so i was against him for the 2 taylor fights and i am also a big joe calzaghe fan so i dont think i'll be rooting for him in his next fight, other than that i like him, he reminds me of miguel cotto.
