Watching a slow motion film of Louis's right hand whiping out is almost like watching a slow motion film of a cobra striking its prey.

Pernell Whittaker has the most educated and cultured right hand I have seen.

Only a joke alluding to another post in another thread. I'm sorry I don't have a panty-debuncher at hand for you.

I think floyd's best performance by far is the Archie Moore fight. I don't think any other performance matches that.

    - red cobra, appropo to your coffee-
Today I sat at a counter in a diner...The guy on my right put about nine teaspoons of sugar in his coffee cup, and did'nt mix it! I was so curious i asked him " You put 9 teaspoons of sugar in your coffee, and did'nt mix it,why ". He answered that "he does'nt like it sweet".

This wont be a popular pick, but i think Ali's is up there with the best of them.

Fast enough to be actually used as a jab, While not accustomed to one punch KO power, or even devastating finish off power, it did more than its fair share of damage against Liston, Foreman and even Frazier. I think the speed that it is thrown means it might just be the most effective right hand overall.

Maybe I haven't read the thread carefully enough, but it seems like no one has mentioned Moore. I think his right hand was one of the most versatile and had devastating knockout power to boot.

I don´t agree with the last sentence, to be the most effective it would need more power. I think Louis´ or Marciano´s are more effective alone among heavyweights. I agree with the rest though.

Ok, the criteria is obvious and we'll call it the greatest overall right hand.

    Heavyweight - Joe Louis
    Light Heavyweight - Michael Spinks
Middleweight to Welterweight - Thomas Hearns
Lightweight to Junior Lightweight - Alexis Arguello
    Featherweight - Saddler or Lopez
    Junior Featherweight - Wilfredo Gomez
    Bantamweight - Carlos Zarate

Based on a mix of all your 4 factors i'd go Louis. Such technical perfection allied to his enormous speed, power and precision.

I agree almost completely with your lists mcvey..'cept I would have to put Schmeling's right in with technical perfection.
