I would be interested to know. Apart the jokers, let's hope somebody can give us some real informations. We can't understand correctly all what's heppening in boxing if we don't know who owns the major organizations.

I say give it time and soon Goldenboy will own them all, or at least a couple.

i think the fact you have question marks agaisnt the IBF prooves its the best belt. if you look through the divisions you see the IBF holders are highest in the ring rankings.

be cool if someone with enough cash bought all 4 belts. if i had the cash........

all outstanding mandatories would have to set a date set within 3 months.

WBC and WBO champions would have to set a deal to fight within 8 months or be stripped. if no deal is agreed we go to purse bids. same rule for WBA and IBF.

The winners of each fight must face eachother within 6 months of there last fight unless theres an injury, in which case the injured guy becomes automatic mandatory when they can return.

    i can only dream.

Ever heard of google? What YOU understand has no bearing on what anyone else understands. You assume these a 'companies' that are owned? :rofl

Knowing that doesnt equate to being a Boxing fan.
Real fans hold the sanctioning bodies in contempt anyway.I dont have a gap in my Boxing knowledge by not knowing which crooks own them.
I have no desire to know.

Ok, so each time someone asks a question here on ESB, I will tell him, go on google or Boxrec and shut up. Listen, if you know the answer and keep it for yourself, it's not very generous. If you don't know the answer, stop laughing at me. At least, I'm curious of learning something.

The point is, no one else is going to do this for you. They are supposed to be independent bodies. By definition they should not have 'owners'. Now, the truth may be much different from that.

But, let me help you get started:

That's not even from google! ;) Too late, I've already watched all the 4 major organizations sites. It looks pretty much the same **** than the IOC. It's made of members around the world. Anything can happen in such organisations because everybody is volunteering. Some people are volunteering for good reasons, others not. They want something in return. And if you want to get on the board of directors, you have to be friens with those who already are. Sulaiman for example, had a brother (or his father) as president before him. There is presently another Sulaiman on the board of governors. Those people like to go each year on vacation to the convention, they are pleased with themselves. The others can be sold or just be incompetent. I prefer the IBF because they were closely watched by the US government. The bull**** between Taylor and Froch cannot happen with the IBF. When Lucian Bute decided to go for the IBF title, Froch decided at the same time to go for the WBC title. Bute will make his third defense before Froch makes his first one. Things are never happening with the WBC. Think about the bull**** between Dawson and Diaconu. They made Diaconu an interim champion, just to give extra time to Dawson to decide to stay with the organization. That was pathetic. I suppose we can go on and on like this.

It was. I just put wbc in the search. But like I said earlier, I was pretty sure without looking it up they weren't 'owned' in the traditional sense. But I'm old enough to remember when there was only one.

They may be 'independent organisations' or whatever they want to call themselves but the fact is they are money making enterprises
obviously the bull**** with super champions, interim champions, champions in recess and champions in your lunch hour is proof of this

There? :rofl I was fairly young and I remember a little bit about the discussions going on. That is about it. All I remember is that some felt it was a good idea because the first organization had become corrupt and others didn't like the thought of split titles. Now we have both. :verysad

I'm not that old. I'll have to check some facts and reconcile them with my memory. What I'm thinking would have been early to mid 60's?
