"Baker" did. Barker didn't get hit nearly as much, and did land a few jabs on Martinez and gave him a little blood. Martinez didn't even look like he was in a fight after the Macklin fight.

I don't think he seriously hurt Macklin in that round, maybe it's just me but to claw it back to a 10 - 9 after a knockdown; the guy has to hurt his opponent.

I put most of my winnings from Kell on Sergio on points with a fiver on the 10th as a pillow.
    Silly me.:patsch

    That seems a sound policy.

Tell me that wasn't based on another of my predictions :-( I put it all on Sergio to win by any method, didn't make much more but it looked pretty safe

Its very impressive indeed, he is one of my favorite fighters due to his dedication to the sport!
I had Martinez ahead in the fight by at least 3 points but Macklin pushed him in the first 5. The 7th was a Martinez round before a knockdown, and boy did that **** Sergio off making him turn loco in the next 4 rounds

Nah,it was the only way to make it worthwhile. My boy put on the 11th AND 12th and he knows **** all.Never even told me and I put him onto our bet and he doubled his £40.I'd have picked the same for fear of him making me look bad.:-(
****in serious lack of gratitude if you ask me.:bart

So then you must have actually had Macklin with a higher score and narrower gap to cover than Barker on the ten-point must system (where the "closeness" of rounds is immaterial) due to the knockdown - unless you opted to give Macklin the 7th only 10-9.

People have claimed that Martinez "looked like ****" both nights, but IMO you are correct and his activity was more substantive last October than last night. :thumbsup

    CompuBox appears to support us:

    Total Punches--- Martinez--- Barker
    Landed------------- 206---------- 155
    Thrown------------- 691---------- 408
    Pct.------------------30%--------- 38%

    Total Punches--- Martinez--- Macklin
    Landed------------- 183-------- 135
    Thrown------------- 437-------- 461
    Pct.----------------- 42%------- 29%

He threw 254 more punches against Barker in the same number of rounds - putting in 58% more work!!

Damn. This also demonstrates that Darren was FAR more accurate than Matthew - landing twenty more while throwing 53 less.

#9 all time at 1152 replies, although people are still bumping it today and it's within 6 posts of overtaking Chavez vs. Rubio for the #8 spot. :conf

Martinez vs. Barker wasn't even top 20, not even cracking 700.

I guess the whole Irish-blooded underdog on St. Patty's Day gimmick really does make a difference.

Nope. Same score, because I did call round 7 as 10-9, not 10-8. An off-balance, flash variety touch down with the glove didn't negate the fact that Sergio did better work during the stanza, especially after the kd was called.

So Mack was up by a single point on my card after 7. But he didn't come close to winning another frame in the rounds that followed. So it was still 96-94 Martinez going into the 11th....same as it was for him going into the 11th round of the Barker fight.:good

Had it closer for Macklin initially. Barker had better d but Mac got Martinez hesitating
