Against a guy who was lucky to win against Calvin Brock.

Pinklon Thomas after being asked how did Tyson's power compare to Morrison's

"There was no comparison. I can tell you that Tommy Morrison hit me so hard that he raised my leg up. At that time, I swore to God that his gloves were loaded by his corner it was just that hard"

Do you think Lewis landed any shots as flush as those Morrison landed?

Last time I saw Mercer v Lewis was about 2 months ago, Morrison in all honesty landed good shots for about 3 rounds then was pooped of course Lewis landed flush shots but I can't honestly say the extent of which it's not fresh in my mind.

In regards to Lewis' power here's what Ollie McCall had to say...

Oliver McCall: "Bert Cooper. Left hook. That was the hardest punch that I ever felt and that I had to overcome. It felt like a truck had hit me. I never got hit by a truck but it felt like if a truck would have hit me."

Boxinginsider.com: Who else was up there? Lennox?

Oliver McCall: "No, Lennox wasn't one of the hardest punchers that I - Buster Douglas hit me harder than Lennox did. Right hand."

Boxinginsider.com: How about Tyson? He has to be up there?

Oliver McCall: "Tyson's right there too. Lennox would probably be about fifth."

Boxinginsider.com: You sparred hundreds of rounds with Tyson, right?

Oliver McCall: "I guess I sparred more than 300 rounds with Tyson and he never knocked me down once. But I put him down once. We had a hell of a battle every time. That's why he paid me $2,000 a week."

Heard Douglas hit him the hardest, if you heard those sounds from just the jabs that landed on Tyson you're inclined to agree.
Seems like Cooper had the harder hook

Yeah very high praise but I'd rather take a shot off Morrison than Lewis.

Interesting enough Morrison himself said Mercer was the hardest puncher he fought followed by Lewis.

left of topic for a second.

it's funny....i dont see (maybe just me) larry holmes showing up on many lists of greatest chins......but, arguably (or a choice of many) the hardest puncher ever, ernie shavers, hit holmes harder (imo) than he ever hit any man ever....he put everything into that punch, his full body weight, and it landed perfectly, if he tried 100 times he couldnt have thrown that punch any better....holmes was coming towards him at with all his weight too and the massive impact happened.......how holmes got up i will never understand...to me, even though he went down, it was an example of one of the greatest chins on a boxer i ever seen

Holmes was about to throw a punch, he wasn't coming towards Shavers.

    Still a hard punch

ok...fair enough...but if you look very close holmes weight was behind his chin, if there is such a term...he was in forward gear as opposed to being still...i think.

He was moving his torso towards Shavers so he was indeed in some sort of forward gear

From what I have read and seen its either Foreman or Shavers, Mike Tyson had a lot of power in both hands due also helped by his style and timing. I doubt Rocky Marciano would have the same kind of power against one of the 200 pound monsters on this list.

Jeff Merritt busted up a Ron Stander rather easily while Shavers couldn't do the same.
And there is nothing on Jeff his record to suggest he had more skill than Shavers.
(He was the first or one of the first Don King fighters, also a crack addict. He was in the top 10 after destroying Ernie Terrel in one round. (Ernie won his previous bout against Wepner but got robbed so Wepner could get his titleshot against Ali))
