Pavlik's power seems better with his KO ratio. Abraham's chin due to the damage inflicted by Miranda and he was still standing at the final bell.

Abraham definitely has the better chin. I think he punches harder too in terms of one shot. But Pavlik punches plenty hard and he throws more.

Not letting this one go by. Miranda couldn't get to his chin after the jaw was broken. I don't want to hear "Miranda hit him with his best shots and didnt even blink(even with his jaw broken lookin like its about to fall off). " Miranda couldn't hit AA in the chest without getting called for a damned low blow and was reduced to trying to break the ear muffs since one more phantom low blow would get him DQ'd.

In the chin department I think AA gets a ton of extra credit for the first Miranda fight, but Arthur caught a huge break when Miranda fell apart emotionally and started fouling like an idiot. Miranda is the only big puncher Arthur has faced. The rest of his title defense opponents had about the same average KO ratio as old, worn out, shot to **** Bronco McKart; 50% or less.

exactly:good refereeing was...questionable (though miranda is dirty) now to be fair to AA, he showed a lot of heart and surprising defensive movement to avoid miranda's sloppy head punching. but the fact is, once he turned "boxer" (as much as he can box), miranda hardly if ever hit him clean.

AA probably has a bit better one punch power, but is not anywhere near as good at throwing punches as is Pavlik... and AA has a solid chin, but Miranda is the only real puncher he has been in with... and both guys showed that they could handle his power.

but it doesn't really matter, Pavlik is the better fighter... doesn't throw looping wild punches, doesn't go life and death with nobodies and doesn't go into stints of inactivity. Pavlik has a huge Height and reach advantage and I see him pinning AA against the ropes ( where AA tends to end up anyways) and going off on him... winning a surprisingly easy UD, maybe even late stoppage.

Kelly throws more power punches and is less conservative but if both men put 100% strength into a punch I would say Abraham is a 9 and Pavlik is an 8 maybe 8.5. Both have good chins but Abraham showed amazing toughness by finishing that first Miranda fight, shades of Ali - Norton 1.

Point is, this can actually be measured. Problem is though it can't be measured during a fight. Pavlik probably has the leverage to measure higher on a test dummy if he took a full wind up. That isn't how he throws during a fight though. Plus, placement counts a lot. The short, sweet right that AA used to put Miranda down in the first fight was a thing of beauty. We will never know how much force was behind it though.

This is what it looks like when a guy takes Miranda's best shots without blinking, and Abraham DID NOT look like this.

I didnt see Hopkins land anything that brutally hard and in round 2 Pavlik did the funky chicken.
