He will gas and lose speed after Floyd strikes him with body shots from hell. Floyd is much more educated than Bertoe and will apply a steady body AZZault. Every southpaw Floyd fights gets beat up downstairs. That right hand to the body is goin to back that AZZ up. Ortiz will lean back so much we'll think he's Puerto Rican.
Good point. Ortiz is mostly a front runner anyways and that one thing you don't want to be against Floyd.
Berto is a power puncher cause he can't punch as flashy as he does without loading up with every shot. You can't really say that Berto potshots or else he would not have his opponents backing up. Mayweather used to potshot and box but he has engaged much more recently and returned to that cobra whipping style with his counter right andlead left hook. It's just different styles, Mayweather fights tall and out of his shell, Berto punches fast l eading his way in with power punches combinations.
Historically yes but in the Berto fight not really. In the 10th and 11th round he was about to KO Berto and the commentators even said it if one more punch would have landed in some of those spurts the ref would have stopped it as he was ready to. The Ortiz we saw in the Berto fight was not the usual Ortiz thats why he won. I dont know if he had a sudden change(or adding) of heart. I will be the first to say skills beats will 99% of the time but there is so many little factors that are coming into play here that im leaning towards an improvable Ortiz victory. I keep thinking Forrest-Mayorga. That fight still makes no sense to me. Specially the way Mayorga won TWICE against a very gifted boxer. Mayorga outwilled him.
