Maidana - Hes KO'd better opposition at higher weight, he knows how to pressurize and use his power more effectively too, but leaves his chin out at times too.

 

Prescott is a banger hes just not skilled enough to use it against decent fighters, when someone sticks their chin out or have a very vunrable chin then hes guaranteed a KO, otherwise hes pretty useless with his power if the opponent is creative a.k.a Vasquez and Mitchell.

 

Prescott has power. But imo khans chin made him look more powerful. Mitchell took a few decent shots from him no problem.

 

Yeah people who stand toe to toe and take clean punches against him will be pretty rocked, people forget that the first KD for Khan took 3 power punches, then the second he took about 5 more bombs going down. Maidaina is alot more effective for his power though.

 

Maidana in a P4P and in an actual sense.

Saying that, I'd still take Khan to beat him. He showed against Kotelnik he can stay disciplined and as long as he boxes smart, Maidana's looping, telegraphed punches shouldn't cause him too much trouble (unless one actually lands on his chin!)

 

Nobody has a clue unless you've either sparred with them or had a street fight with one of them. They've both KO'd a fair share of nobodies contributing to their KO record.

It's easy to just guess Maidana because he's at 140lbs and has KO'd more people but these things are an inexact science. Deliverable power is a lot more important, I think Maidana probably has the edge in that department because he's managed to give everybody a tough fight.

 

Maidana id say, id also say hes more accurate with his power than Prescott, against Mitchell Prescott looked wild to me!

 

Let's put it this way - Prescott has been in there with several guys who were handpicked for him to knock out, and he failed to knock them out. Richard Abril was a handpicked opponent because he'd been wobbled before, and Prescott couldn't hurt him. Humberto Toledo had been KOed 4 times before, including a first round knockout by light hitting Lamont Peterson, yet Prescott couldn't put a dent in him. The only other fighters Prescott has hurt other than Khan have been Colombian cabdrivers.

Maidana generally fought a much higher level of competition in Argentina than Prescott did in Colombia. He's knocked out a number of established names - not great fighters, but guys I've heard of and seen fight before. He knocked out Arturo Morua, who wasn't hurt by Ricardo Torres and who Junior Witter needed a mercy stoppage to stop. He knocked out William Gonzalez, who went to a decision against Alberto Mosquera and Pavel Miranda. He's the only guy to hurt Victor Ortiz, who may not have a great chin, but also hadn't been repeatedly rocked by feather fisters from lower weight classes.

Plus, if you've actually seen more than a couple fights from either of them, it's pretty apparent who drives the better force on his punches.

Maidana hits SIGNIFICANTLY harder than Prescott, and I don't need to get punched by either of them to know that.

Maidana would KO Khan cold, he'd leave Khan unconscious on the floor !! (if he connected)

Maidana's the sort of fighter who can knock out most fighters if he connects proper, or get the respect of most fighters (in his weight class obviously) !!

Prescott's just been made out to look like a monster when he ain't, he never knocked out that bum Richard Abrill or even bothered Mitchell ....

Prescotts feather fisted compared to Maidana in my opinion, Prescott has just got a good technique and can swing it !!
