Hopefully that effort won't cost him in the long run health-wise. That was a savage beating made even more tragic by the events that followed with Briggs basically being cheated out of the majority of his purse. Was it heroic? It was in the sense that Shannon stood in there like a man and took those punches, but why the need for it? The corner should have stopped the fight.

 

He was probably a few rounds away from death :-( His heart was off the charts.

Got the suprise of a lifetime when he took on Vitali and really couldn't keep up for the first few rounds but he found a way to win which is what true Champions do.
