Why do you Calzaghe fans ALWAYS feel the need to defend your guy, even when NOONE is attacking him?

Lennox Lewis was a great fighter.

Joe Calzaghe is a great fighter.

Lewis ranks higher all time than Calzaghe (as this is the thread's question).

All relevant questions. Maybe the 3 most important questions in boxing... when you think about it.

 

They are important questions, but not the MOST important.

What makes you think Calzaghe has superior stamina than Lennox? Did you ever see Lewis gas out or look tired in a fight? Lennox enjoyed getting the UD, when the knockout didn't come.

And don't let the chin factor fool you. In heavyweight one punch is enough to do the trick far more often than in Super Middle. Lewis had a pretty decent chin.

 

Who is more beatable? Well that's comfortably Calzaghe, all his best wins came against obviously past their best fighters, and he even managed to struggle with them - did Lennox struggle with Tyson? I think not.

Who has the better chin? Again I'd say Lewis, only 2 career knock-downs and he beat the count on one of them, the other one would have KO'd pretty much anyone. Calslappy has been KD'd by 2 extremely faded fighters in his last 2 outings.

Stamina....hmmmm. Who's done 12 hard rounds most often? I believe the answer is Lewis. Calslappy has done 12 rounds several times yes but against who?

This is a ridiculous poll, Calslappy doesn't match up to Lennox Lewis well at all to any right-minded individual.

Even Calzaghe detractors admit he is one of the most conditioned athletes ever in boxing.

Americans forget people in UK have been watching both careers from the start..Both dominated in their respective weights but if there fought at same weight,Calzaghe would win quite easily aswel.Factor in the unbeaten record and Lewis's KO loses,close but Calzaghe is best but just not as media friendly to American fans.

 

I ike Calzaghe and never liked Lewis when he was around, but like so many others have revisited his fights and realised just how good he was.

Lewis by a bit. Calzaghe is probably top 80-100 for me. Lewis is 30-50.
