I would go with McCallum. I feel he had more quality wins over a long span. He had wins over Julian Jackson, Curry, Kalambay, Graham, Collins,Watson not to mention a draw with Toney and at least one of those 3 fights can be disputed. However Benitez does have the better single WIN, which is over Duran. Not to mention being a very skilled and hard to beat fighter in his prime.

McCallum was a boxing sorcerer. He could cast spells in the ring

    Mike easy

I see Wilfred had some success early on but could not reach the elite level despite his championships

Wins over Maurice Hope, Cervantes, & Duran help him but Duran no longer had the makings of a winner and Wilfred could not really make things happen, occasionally had to settle for a points loss. losing lopsidedly to Leonard & Hearns, then Hamsho, Moore, Hilton. How atrocious!

I'm sorry, but he just wasnt good enough

To sum it up, I would much rather have Mike's career than Wilfred's

Should not have been allowed but there were no rules against Magik in the ring in the 1980s.

Damn this is a tough one. I would suspect I’d say Benitez but I’d probably have to really have a long think about it. I think Benitez was better at his peak but of course McCallum lasted forever.

I think it depends on how you score big single wins in comparison to solid longevity. I'm not sure of an answer myself.

Benitez. He was truly sensational, much more than holding his own against unbelievably elite opposition. A genius of boxing art imo, and I don't care if that sounds pretentious.

    So damn pretentious, Rules!!

In my opinion, McCallum has the better career with a deeper resume.

This is it. The Duran win for Benitez is a huge one but gets downplayed by a lot. It's big. Cervantes is quite big as well. McCallum has the longevity. He was also beaten a bit around his best.

It's not downplayed but rather seen in the proper context. Duran was now ONE of the top competitors of the division and judging from future results later in the year, we were right.
