Who ranks higher: Jermell Charlo or Devin Haney

Haney has been more dominant but Jermell has the better resume.

Right now i go with Jermell.

 

Jermell Charlo, for sure. He had to be more game opponents like Harrison and Rosario before becoming undisputed compared to Haney.

 

I go with charlo.

Charlo has the deeper resume although Haney has been more dominant albeit against lesser fighters.

So for me it's charlo

Charlo has greater accomplishments but he's also much older. Haney is more naturally talented, tho.

 

Charlo's route to undisputed was harder and a better achievement

Haney however is much younger, and his resume may one day surpass that of Charlo.

 

Mell

 

Jermell's run has him in the convo if not inside top 10 154ers of all time. LW is a historically much deeper division but Haney's resume just ain't there. It's really not all that close to me. Linares ghost and a blown up FW are his best wins. Even on ability Jermell is better IMO. Much more dynamic, powerful offensive fighter. Doesn't just jab and grab and show little to no ability to build off that jab. So far it's been enough to overmatch his mostly much smaller and less athletic opponents.

 

Charlo for sure.

At the end of the day, as impressive as Haney's victory was last night, his resume consists of:
- shot to pieces Gamboa
- shot to pieces Linares
- blown up featherweight Jojo Diaz
- one-hit wonder Kambosos

 

Charlo but Haney more skillful P4P and Charlo more explosive. Both deserve to be in top 10 P4P currently.
