Lewis' best fights were avenging defeats. Holmes was a better all round boxer in a better era.

Argue otherwise. Lennox received one punch KOs from McCall and Rahman. Excuses aside he has a weak chin.

Foreman was put down by far lesser punchers. What do you think of his chin?

    Gary Mason
    Razor Ruddock
    Tony Tucker
    Frank Bruno
    Oliver McCall
    Tommy Morrison
    Andrew Golota
    Shannon Briggs
    Evander Holyfield
    David Tua
    Hasim Rahman
    Vitali Klit

Any of those wins on Larrys resume would be up there with his top scalps.

Not mention the way Lewis flattened fighters that were notorious for being able to take a punch. He destroyed people in a fashion that no one else had.

Lewis but it is tight, I think who you beat is more important than who you lose to and Lewis did correct both of his losses.

The McCall stoppage was premature. As the defending champ, Lewis should have been given the benefit of the doubt and been allowed to continue.
McCrory was in far worse condition against Curry, and he was allowed to continue. (Not that it changed anything.)

However, to claim he was 100% right is way off the mark. He was clearly on ***** street, although he seemed to recover right after the fight was stopped.

As for his chin...well, it served him well enough most of the time. I still think there are question marks about it though.

I'd pick Holmes. I'd have Holmes top 3 and Lewis around 6th

Lewis only had a weak chin in comparison to the other Top 10 ATG Heavyweight's he's in the company of. No fighter is perfect and this is one of his extremely few flaws. The fact that he avenged them is important, but doesnt change the fashion in which he lost the first go round. Neither of those fights even got to the mid-rounds, he sustained no significant punishment leading up to the 1 shot KOs. Even if you could call the McCall stoppage premature, he shouldnt be getting dropped like that in the second round. It's suspect, and Rahman confirmed it.

You could do exactly the same thing in reverse. Holmes beat Norton, Shavers, Berbick, Snipes, Cooney, Weaver, L.Spinks, L.Jones, Witherspoon, Smith, Bey etc. .... most of whom would sit up there with the names you have listed.
I notice you left of Ray Mercer, who is certainly worthy of being high up among your list of Lewis foes. I wonder why you left Mercer off.
