Maybe because Holmes has Mercer as a win?

Because Holmes beat him more convincingly at 42.

Rated fighters are Rated fighters. You dont choose the era in which you fight. There's no divisions to jump and fighters to chase in this arena.

There are times when it's painfully obvious and speaks for itself. Most of the time however, it's actually widely debatable and ultimately a subjective opinion.

Most people in their right mind have Louis and Ali 1-2 in either order. Beyond that, it's anybody's game depending on one's criteria and opinion.

Hasim Rahman has MASSIVE RAW POWER like a bloody MAC TRUCK, he could lift 500KG's!!! :scaredas::scaredas::scaredas:

AS for MCcall, you should realise ANYBODY even ATG Heavys with solid or even iron cheens can be Dropped Early - Ali dropped in Round 4 VS Cooper, Liston KO'd in Round 1 VS Ali, Frazier down 6 times in 2 Rounds VS Foreman, Big George himself dropped 2 times in 5 Rounds VS Ronny Lyle, Patterson KTFO 2 times in Round 1 VS Liston, shot Tyson KO'd in Round 3 VS Danny Williams even if it took 30 power-punches in a row And his knee internally exploding, Patterson down 7 times in Round 1 of 1st Johannasson fight And 2 times in Round 1 of 3rd Johannasson fight. YOU get my point now m8? :think:think:think

    Exactly. :good
You were 100% right but it kind of underlines there is no superiority in quality of Lewis's opponents and Holmes' opponents. There's nothing to back that assertion up. Shannon Briggs and Gary Mason and Tommy Morrison .... would they even beat Tex Cobb ?

    possibly.

Razza Mercer ran very "hot And cold" - he had a v.bad night VS shot Old Lazza Holmes, like he did VS Jesse "Journeyman" Ferguson. NOW watch in comparison Razza on a good night VS Holyfeild, Spoon And Lenny Lewis - OK he Lost all 3, BUT he looked canny MINT giving them all hellish WARS. :deal

Styles make fights. A 42 year old Holmes beats any version of Mercer. And Ferguson was a tough style for Mercer too even in their rematch where Mercer had everything to prove and was in great shape, Jesse was a hard fight.

Regards both these guys - you can only fight who is out there at the time they are out there - ps I'd say regards Lennox that he was IMO avoided like the plague by most of the Americans for a while - I'd considered him the champion in waiting long before he became universally recognised - especially when Bowe dodged him with the ridiculous trash an ceremony - but overall I rank Holmes as the better - I think at his own peak he was a better fighter and head to head would've beaten Lennox

That was a green Lewis in against Mercer IMO.
And what you said earlier about Cobb. Cobb has never faced anyone as good as those guys.

Honestly, there isn't any possible way of knowing. For all we know, it was the hardest punch ever thrown. Or maybe it wouldn't register amongst the top 250. That punch and the angle and trajectory at which it was thrown was intended for Lewis and Lewis only at that moment. Plugging various different HWs into the same position, it becomes a different shot.

It Was a bomb. On a complete shot in the dark, I'd say McCall, Chuvalo, Old George, Holyfield and perhaps even Tyson stand a fair chance of absorbing it considering it occurred in the 5th round. If it drops post-Exile Ali, he gets up to continue. It probably does drop Holmes, who also continues. Complete guesswork. :deal

in one of moanes i mean holmes' interview he said he offered lennox lewis a fight but lewis declined saying he wouldnt fight him because he had a good jab, this would of been a fat 40plus holmes vs green early 90s lewis. holmes' reign seems more assured as you knew he could outbox probably all his opponents and had a good chin , lewis reign seems brilliant at times especially the kos he got against tough opponents, but cold when he got lazy and was in trouble when he shouldnt of been. im gonna say holmes' ranks one place above lewis.
