    Cotto.

Why? Because he's higher on the list of BAMFs in boxing.

Wow, I didn't know Cotto fought that many more champs than Calzaghe. Cotto's average competition level is great. Nearly every fighter he's fought has been in or very near their primes.

Hopkins was the current number one in the Division when he fought Calzaghe, Calzaghe like it or not was number 1 undisputed in two divisions Cotto has not been number one in any of his three divisions.

Close. Cotto´s overall competition is better and his resume is deeper.

Why do you have Clottey twice?

    Yeah and this isn't close.

Hopkins was consensus P4P top four when Calzaghe moved up in weight to beat him. Mosley not considered in the P4P top ten when Cotto beat him.

Kessler was unified champion when Calzaghe beat him, Judah hadn't won a fight in 25 months when Cotto beat him.

Great thread, very well backed up. Cotto fought very tough opposition and his only losses came against cheaters (not proven but highly likely). On the other hand Calzaghe went a career undefeated, and fought much of his career - including beating a formidable Hopkins - with wrecked hands

    Id have to say Calzaghe
