Margarito was a bigger fight than Shane Mosley? :huh I think not. Mosley was more of a career-definer than Margo was - and Cotto delivered.

Miguel Cotto's career gets sevely understated. He has beaten the best fighters of his er.

He is a three weight world champion. Has excellent fundamentals and shared the ring with elite fighters. How can anyone pick Calzaghe over Cotto???!!

You said he has beaten the best fighters of this era. I can think of at worst, at least 2.

I am amazed Calslappy is getting this much love. Cotto seems to be one of the more well respected fighters in the forums. I guess consistently putting on the best fight possible doesn't get as much respect as hiding in the UK fighting non-contenders.

it is because Joe Calzaghe is in a different league to Cotto.

3rd place fighter of the decade only behind Mayweather and Pac, never lost a fight, was never hurt. dominated a weight class and was ring champion in 2 weight classes.

serisouly it is not even close, Cotto was a good champion and a very popular fighter. Calzaghe was a great champion and maybe the GOAT at SMW.

If the opposition beaten is listed in order of quality why on earth is Eubank beneath Reid and Lacey?!? Thats insane..

Calzaghe edges this for me but not by much
